What does an arcing motor sound like?

Just as the title says. I know what arcing is. I'm just curious as to what a motor that's arcing sounds like.

Arcing motor brushes

The sound is usually a buzzing, fizzing sound, varying in loudness with the motor loading. There is usually an accompanying 'characteristic odour' of hot carbon.

If you've ever heard an arc welder in use, it's quite similar, especially when the welder breaks the arc.

A motor with poor brush contact (hence arcing) may also have unstable speed.
