Ever since I bought my Sentria I've used the yellow Kirby paper bags in it.

I've used them simply because they are cheaper (since I have to replace a bag about every 3 to 4 weeks.)

Is there any performance loss? Performance gain?

Besides the filtration which isn't a big deal to me, is there any real reason I should be using a HEPA bag in my Kirby?

I can't comment on performance, but with the HEPA bags you can fit so much more dirt into one bag. If you haven't seen them definitely check them out, they're huge. One of my Sentrias takes the F style bag and I only use the HEPA ones just for that reason.

Which Kirby bags are yellow? The G3 bags are brown. All the paper bags (hepa or otherwise) are brown. HEPA cloth bags are white. The only yellow Kirby bags I know of are bojack Heritage II bags.

The old G3 single ply bags were yellow, but that changed years ago. The G4 bags (micron magic) were always brown, as were all the succeeding paper bags after that model. They do still make bojack bags for the Heritage II in yellow. You could 'make' one fit into a Sentria, but who would want to? The single ply bags restrict the airflow and suction after just a use or two. Not to mention they leak dust. There was a lady one time who came into a friend's vac shop and asked for "trash bags for my Kirby five. The unexpensive ones. And some rubber bands". She wanted G3 bags and a belt.

The bags I use are the Micron Magic bags. I guess they're brown, they just look yellow to me. I only use genuine bags so they must be brown.
