Hey guys... I have a Dyson DC 14 and tonight I used it to vacuum the mattress pad. Well, I forgot to turn off the brushroll when I did it, and now when I turn the Dyson off as the brushroll winds down, I hear a terrible rattling sound. Maybe I messed up the clutch? The brushroll seems tight. I just replaced the clutch about 5 months ago due to a clicking noise it was making, and it has been fine until tonight. Whatever did I do?
This poor Dyson was abused when I bought it used a few years ago, and it has been good to me, but if this isn't a simple fix, I won't have a problem saying good bye to it. I've never liked the clutch system or the skinny brushroll... there are several other Dyson models that I'd prefer like the DC17, or the air muscle, or mini blueprint (forgot the model names of those). I just don't like for ANY of my things to make "funny" noises... whether it be the car, dishwasher, washer, sewing machines, or vacuums I can't stand noises that I know they aren't supposed to make!
What do you think? Do I gotta replace that silly clutch again or is it more serious than that?
