What are you oldest most cherished vacuums?

My oldest (electric) vacuum is my Royal model 1 from 1910. The cord had an in-line switch, and ran through the handle, plugging into the side of the machine. The cord came back out of the handle, so the handle could be used as the cleaning wand with the hose. Very unique design.

My oldest/most cherished

My oldest vacuum is my 1922 Hoover model 105. My 1926 General Electric 69 is close behind in age. My most cherished would still have to be my 1997 Fantom Thunder because it was the first vacuum I ever got for my collection when I was 11 years old (I'm almost 18 now.)

Question for Kirby 508 owners

Does your Kirby 508 have a small spring on the nozzle locking lever? The lever I'm referring to is mounted on the fan case and is used to "lock" the nozzle onto the front of the unit, right before you then use the Belt Lifter to attach the belt to the pulley.

Does your 508 have the spring, which adds tension and helps "lock" the carpet nozzle onto the unit?

Just an FYI for Daniel to begin with - Your Goblin Triumph model 46 was made from 1945-1950.

My oldest machines would be my Goblin Model 40 from the 1920's, My Electrolux Model 11 from 1926 and my Tuec stationary cleaner from 1912.

My oldest is my 1973 hoover junior 1346A. My most cherished? It's a tough choice between my 2011 sebo X1.1 ( I know that's going to get a few eyes rolling) and my 1993 Hoover Turbopower Boost U2716. I honestly can't be bothered o get pictures, sorry.

'48 Lux XXX.
My grandparents bought it new from a salesman. They went 50/50 on the payments with my great grandparents and shuttled it between them every other week.
I have it now.

Lewyt for collectors

Nice thread. My favorite is an Electrolux G model- I still use it but am having a hard time getting parts. I have a newer 'lux, but also have my grandmother's Lewyt, and I'd like to get it on to a new home/collector. Please respond if you could use a Lewyt or know a starting collector who could use it. Sorry, not attachments or box. Andrea Morris
