Yes Bob

Once again the Lux looks fabulous, the color of the hose kinda comlements the rest of the machine and the floor tool I think.

Ken:

Up close and personal, the hose is pure peach, although it did turn out pretty good in the picture. Maybe I'll have to dump it in a vat of beige paint :) I'm thinking, though, that it might be a little bit too long for a power nozzle hose cord, whenever I get one. You can see how much longer it is than my other hoses in this picture:

Trying to fit it all in before the...

rubber hose cord straps break. I tried my model 89 hose cord on the replacement hose, and its ever so slightly too short. It doesn't allow for much slack at the machine end, for the automatic bag door opening function. I'm not sure about the length of the original G hose and cord.

Newfoundland? Wow!

It's so nice to know that we have Canadian vac fans from coast to coast - literally!

Sire......let's see some Chinese vac pics, and maybe Korean too! Whenever you get the chance....

Brian, you just reminded me that I did have a vacuum when in Korea...had completely forgotten about it. It was some kind of stick vac, similar to one of those 1980's Hoover models (I forget the name of these vacs), and it didn't have much more power than a Dustbuster. No wonder I forgot about it and left it there.

As for Chinese vacs, if you go to the "Vacuum Collections" tab on the home page, you can see my entire collection, including the two vacuums I have in China (they're still there). They closely resemble the Electrolux Oxygen in shape and style, and, as far as I know, aren't available outside of China.

"Little Luxes"

That style of Electrolux is really good for countries with huge populations and small houses, and the performance really isn't too bad. The one drawback I can see is that the workmanship (or should I say "workpersonship"?) is not the best...the cord winders, for example, tend to break easily.

Japan...been there 3 times, want to go back for a 4th, and not only to check out the vacuums.

Japanese vacs

Bob....if you want to really have some fun, try searching the internet for vac websites from Japan. Just go to each big Japanese manufacturer's main website and even if you can't read Japanese, try to navigate your way over to the webpage for vacs (try every link...). Each company should end in "co.jp" so for instance Toshiba is toshiba.co.jp.

It's amazing the things they are trying out on vacuums over there! Sanyo recently had a canister vac that recycled the filtered air back up the hose and into the attachments for a second time!

Here's a start: http://www.toshiba.co.jp/living/cleaners/index_j.htm

Try this with Korean websites too like Samsung!

Sweet indeed. When I first looked at pictures of the 2 Model Gs, I thought the tan/bronze (whatever the official color is) was a little bland looking compared to the in-your-face turquoise. The tan G, however, has a real elegance about it.

I'm still working on completing the ensemble with all the attachments and original hose.
