Since last year, I've been making a effort to document department stores' vacuum aisles for my archive. I was looking through my pictures tonight, I noticed how big a year it has been for the vacuum industry! Take a look at the amount of new models at Target alone. Hoover, Bissell and Eureka have all introduced new designs, and even some packaging is new.

Yes, Adam, the Miele Man, they are the same cleaner, made by the same company called TTI who are a Chinese Firm I believe. They own Hoover USA and VAX UK. But they don't own Hoover UK as this is owned by Candy of Italy who also manufacture in China.

Well they're similar vacs but not exactly the same, of which I was corrected by another member on here when I mentioned that the Vax Mach Air - Hoover's Windtunnel Air is a bit different with hose arrangement and Windtunnel suction channels. I think the Windtunnel Air is a better upright from what has been discussed on here before.

Possibly, Chris. Much prefer the fixed position of the Reach model though - that vac has it all - compact, slim and excess hose and cord, not to mention the pet hair turbo brush. The fixed position feels far more substantial than the swivel version IMHO, which has shades of the Hoover Slalom about it - takes a couple of tries for it to lock back into the proper position without falling over to the sides after use.
