Wet dry separators, have you used one?

Hey guys, I’m curious how many of you used a wet dry separator converting any normal dry vacuum into a wet dry vacuum? It’s essentially a wet dry vacuum without the motor and instead it has a hose coming out the top so you can plug it into any normal vacuum

I u have a wet/dry type vac already, you really don't need one...I've used on a little with a central vac...worked ok... but filled too quickly and easy for water too go up the pipes in the central vac...

I wouldn't use it on ANY machine.

Typically vacuums that are designed for wet and dry pickup have bypass motors instead of through flow motors. Basically the difference is through flow use the same air you use for cleaning to cool the motor windings inside. Bypass motors have an additional cooling fan at the top for cooling the motor windings and the cleaning air doesn't pass through the coil. If you use a through flow motor for wet pickup the moisture will corrode the windings and that will be the end of the motor.

That thing is sold for use with central vacuums.
Usually central vacs have 2 or 3 stage tangential bypass motors. (yes i know through flow motor cvs exist)
