Yes, the 1975 date is correct. I worked at the former Mansfield, OH Westinghouse plant in 1977. By that time, WCI had indeed taken over, the plant was renamed Mansfield Products Division, White Consolidated Industries, and the appliances were called White-Westinghouse. The only appliances made there when I worked there were washers, dryers, and ranges. Refrigerators were moved to the Columbus plant in the 1950's, and the small appliances that had been made there (percolators, frypans, irons, and the ever-famous Westinghouse roaster) were sold to Hamilton Beach Scovill in 1968 if I remember right.
Interesting to note, electric fans and vacuum cleaners were never made in Mansfield, but in another plant in Springfield, MA. Also if I remember right, their vacuum cleaner line was discontinued in the late 60's or early 70's.
Here are my Westinghouse vacs, the F1-46 upright, H-10 hand vac,and SC-1 canister. And remember, you can be SURE...if it's Westinghouse!
