I am looking for a hose that fits a round canister Westinghouse. It is unusual in design that is all metal, has strategically spaced ridges which allow it to lock into the machine and line up with a couple of vertical tight springs.

I think there was a Kenmore version of my machine, that used the same hose/hose end.

you can contact me by my email address listed on the website.

Sweeten the pot.....attachments

I can either totally swap or lower what you want for your hose/hose end, with a set of RED Royal/Stark vacuum attachments.

Thanks.

Westinghouse

The Westinghouse you have pictured there looks a lot like mine, which is all original except for the hose and the cord. I'd like to find the original turquoise hose for it too (matches the bottom part of the cannister and the attachments), but until I do I'll be happy with it as is. Hope you find one.
Jeff

That's actually a newer model. mine is an SC-1, and that one is an SC-2. Don't know if they changed the color or if it just looks darker because of the lighting in the ad picture. But they are a powerful machine! Mine is one of the "family vacs" in my collection and belonged to an Aunt (my Dad's older sister) whose husband worked at the Westinghouse plant in Mansfield, OH, where I grew up. I got it when they went into assisted living.

Good News....

I managed to get the hose I wanted, well I mean, the hose ends. The hose I got had a leaky woven outside/worn rubber inside hose from which I harvested the ends.

Today I washed, rinsed, dried, and thoroughly cleaned and replacement hose. The last cleaning to make sure the hose was free of any oils, was to wipe it thoroughly with 91% alcohol. I then spray painted the hose an appropriate color. It is drying now. I will include a picture of the almost finished vacuum. I still need to add a rubber furniture bumper around the bottom edge.

There is still a matter of finding the other hose end for my friend's machine.

TADA! Westinghouse Canister

Here are the old and new picture of the original vacuum and the new one.

First picture is of the rough first/other vacuum like it was left by my parents. I was new to VL when I posted this. I had repainted the top. Ugh! I will add a separate picture of that machine another time. It looks much better now.

Second picture is the recent vacuum. There is a bit of paint flaws on the top, but the graphics on the top are strong. The hose is just generic spray painted and it is missing the white furniture bumper. I have an idea for the bumper. Also, the suction ring on the handle, is not original.

The tools are correct including the wands, with their unique bottom cutouts.

I have one other machine, so there are shared tools.

Glad you were able to get a hose. Looks like you did a great job of matching it to the attachments and bottom of the cannister! Yours is an SC-2, a year newer than my SC-1. looks like you have plenty of bags to last you a while too. And remember, You Can Be Sure...if it's Westinghouse! Congrats,
Jeff

Thank you, Jeff

I had hoped another hose would come along. As for the hose/hose end to fit my friend's machine has not surfaced.....yet.

I am going to inspect the other machine this week. At the very least to shine her up.

Would be cool to find another set of correct tools. I do have an extra beige Westy upholstery tool and rather worn floor tool in turquoise.

Cheers.
