It's a yellow DC07 All Floors model and all in all, I'm happy with it. I spent a while doing general cleanup on it before firing it up, and it looks pretty good. I have a small one bedroom apartment, so I plugged it in to a central outlet, and with it's 40 foot cord, I was able to get almost everywhere without unplugging and replugging. That's great because they certainly weren't thinking about convienience when they built my apartment complex. Not nearly enough outlets, especially in the kitchen. My apartment has hard wood laminate in the living/dining areas and kitchen, with wall to wall carpet in the bedroom and tile in the bathroom. I have a cat, and couldn't believe how much cat hair came up from the bedroom carpet. Also the Dyson did a great job picking up the litter she drags out of the cat box. I then switched the brush roll off and went to the bare floors. Worked OK there, but probably won't use it that way often because I'm afraid the plastic nozzle will scratch the floors. I'll stick to the Filter Queen for that, or get a floor tool for the Dyson. Haven't decided on that yet. I then switch to attachment mode and vacuumed the furniture, and dusted, etc. While vacuuming the sofa, I was wishing I had the turbo nozzle for it, and then inspiration struck. I have a Eureka Altima with the Power Paw. I thought maybe it will fit. I tried it, and yes, it did fit! Oh Happy Day. Continued vacuuming, and go so much cat hair out of the sofa and love seat.
By this time, the dirt container was getting pretty full so I decided to empty it. I hit the button to release it from the machine, and as soon as I lifted it, the bottom swung open and dumped the entire contents right on top of the machine and the floor. I couldn't believe that happened. I stood there dumb founded. After a few choice word (insert your own expletitives here) I closed the bottom and it swung open again. I found that I have to close it pretty hard before it locks closed. Is that normal?
Anyway, I re-cleaned the machine and vacuumed up the mess again, and this time the container stayed closed until I pulled the trigger to open it. I had the container in the trash can before I opened it, and did not notice an objectionable amout of dust floating out. There was a little, but nothing like they show on the Oreck infomercials. Again after emptying it, I had to close the bottom pretty hard before it locked shut. Any one else have this problem?

) I like the DC07... it was the first Dyson to hit the US and the first one I used when I sold them at Sears so it has a special place in my heart. Also nice is that it doesn't have the telescopic wand found on other Dysons. I am glad your Eureka Altima turbo tool fit the Dyson.... the one from my Hoover Windtunnel did not fit my Dyson, but I tried to put it on the end of the hose.... did you put the Eureka tool on the end of the hose or the wand? My DC 14 didn't come with the turbo tool either, but it did come with all the other attachments including the bare floor tool and zorb tool. The Dyson attachments are great, they pivot at the neck, and the upholstery tool is designed not to stick to furniture. GET THE BARE FLOOR TOOL.... I LOVE IT! I don't like using it with the Dyson though... I'm 5 11 and the Dyson wand is so short, I have to almost bend over when using it.... combined with the hose fighting me and making the cleaner bite my ankles, I've found it best to use their awesome bare floor tool with a canister instead of the machine it was designed to be used with. I hope they improve these issues in future models. The Dyson does a decent job on bare floors in upright mode. Their bare floor tool has pretty stiff bristles though, it may scratch a wood floor. The have a new one called the "flat out" tool that may not be as aggressive, but I prefer the original.
