Some of you know the story of the very first commercial vacuums I ever saw and used back when I was in elementary school. When I was in 5th grade, the cleaning staff enlisted me to help them vacuum, and this was the machine I used every day for 4 years. When my school merged with another, I was told that these machines were all thrown away in favor of newer "better" machines.
I guess I should tell you what the machine is huh.
Well, its nothing more than a rebadged Sanitaire. It was sold under the name Euroclean, because of Kent-Euroclean, which is still one of the industry leaders in the production of commercial floor care.
Now, you may be wondering, "Did he find a replica?"
Nope. Even better. I found the ACTUAL machine I used!
It ended up being buried in the back of a janitor closet that nobody used anymore. When I was in there looking for carpet shampoo, I saw what looked like a Sanitaire handle. I couldn't remember ever putting one in that closet, so I dragged it out into the light, and I almost dropped dead when I saw what it actually was! Unfortunately, the bottom plate, wheel axles, brushroll, etc were completely rusted out, and the motor was seized. After an hour of careful cleaning and repair, she runs as well as I remember. I'll take pictures tomorrow when I go into work. I would much rather use it than the plastic garbage the school owns.
