Welcome to the new Vacuum Cleaner Collectors Club Site –Vacuumland. You have found your way to the Vintage Forum section of the Discuss-O-Vac Forum which will hopefully be a platform for some great discussions about vintage vacuum cleaners. The discussion forum is divided into three major areas – the Vintage Vacuum Forum for discussions about vintage vacuum cleaners manufactured before 1980, the Contemporary Vacuum Forum for discussions about modern vacuums-those manufactured after 1980 and an Off-Topic Forum for discussions about just about anything else. Let’s keep it civil and respectful, please. <br
The design of the forums is intended to help people find just the discussions and conversations that they are interested in. In addition to the three forums, each forum is further broken down into individual topic threads. Feel free to start a new thread on any specific topic you like, but please keep the discussions to the appropriate forum. It goes without saying that you should also feel free to add your comments to existing threads and keep the interesting conversations going. Please start any new threads in the appropriate forum, i.e. discussions about vintage vacuums in the Vintage Vacuum Forum, discussions about modern vacuums in the Contemporary Vacuum Forum and any other discussions to the Off-Topic Forum. I, as webmaster will keep and eye on things and will move threads to another forum, if a poster posts to the wrong forum by mistake. Robert Seger, the Website designer, has put together this design for AutomaticWasher.Org and it seems to work well for that group. The general rule is “If you don’t want to deal with a certain topic, avoid that thread.” You may also add pictures or links to pictures to the threads to make them more interesting <br
I should probably comment here about expected behavior on this website. I, as webmaster will be monitoring the discussions. I expect the visitors here to respect one another. That means that you will respect other posters expressing their opinions without attacking them. If a poster “goes over the line” and doesn’t follow the “Golden Rule” I will probably contact them or post some commentary and then deal with the poster if bad behavior continues. I am committed to keeping this site from suffering the fate that other vacuum cleaner sites have experienced. We want to create a friendly community to share a common interest in vacuum cleaners <br
Finally, I invite you to fully explore the various areas of this site starting from the home page. It is anticipated that this site will continually be updated with new additions. We welcome any suggestions, ideas and material that you may have regarding new pages and have a few new pages, including a convention section, in development. Have fun reviewing vintage owner’s manuals, vintage consumer articles, vintage commercials and the many other features we have worked to add. If you have any questions, please just create a post and we will answer your questions.
