Yes, that is a Singer made canister - probably late 70s from the color scheme.

The 175 model number prefix is for Singer/Ryobi.
 
Singer made that in the '60's, designed (get this) by Henry Dreyfuss. The same man who gave us the Hoover 150's design. Singer private labeled it (in orange) for Sears in the early '70's and later in blue for the late '70's. It has a one fan Lamb motor (not much suction) and a very inexpensive build quality. The exhaust air blows straight out of the bottom of the machine onto the floor. Bags are difficult to install and remove without tearing.
