an old style Eureka straight suction rug nozzle. The type before the attached plastic neck that connected to the chrome bottom elbow wand.
It can be green, blue, beige, or ivory. I can paint it.
I found a blue crevice tool and painted it ivory. It looks great. I used Rustoleum primer/paint also for plastic. Satin ivory silk.

Seek and find!

I stopped at a used vac and sewing machine repair shop today. Guess what he had?
Yep. It must have come from a Eureka electric broom, because it says 3 way cleaning action on it, and the chrome elbow was thinner gauge steel with a snap button hole.
It's an odd grey color soon to be painted ivory to match the 1980 model 1289 brandywine powerteam. Those came with an extra set of wands for the hard floor brush, plus this rug nozzle.
Now she's showroom correct.
Sunday I searched through an entire pile of vacuums and parts at a flea market.
I did find a late model grey low end powerteam 1700 or 1800 series. 2 horsepower. It was laying open, and had a missing hose handle elbow.
I grabbed that rotomatic for $5. It runs, and is in nice shape. It only has a wooden distribulator beater bar brush roll though.

Phillip,

I only bought the power nozzle, but another member has pics on here of his 3 horsepower version.
Just google vintage eureka powerteam vacuum photos, and the waterfall search result pictures appear.
That's how I found it. Just click any photo to see them all.

PS, Phillip,

Were you wanting one of those Eureka's?
The issue is what shipping costs. It's not cheap.
The flea market opens tomorrow (Friday) at 4 p.m. maybe I will head over there and see if the canister is till there.
My best bet is it is.
This is not a high end market. It closed at 5 or 6 last Sunday, so their traffic is mainly on Saturday and Sunday.
Garage sale season is also around the corner. I see lots of Kirby's too.
I only took the rotomatic power head because I don't have one for my other brandywine canister. It is not a match, but works, as well as with my central vac.
It's not like I need it really.

Mike I do have a elbow and bristle floor brush in off-white I don't need.

The flea market sounds like fun. Lots of good stuff in Michigan it seems. At least stuff I would get.

Delaney,

Thanks for the offer. I already have two chromed wand elbows. I may be interested in the bristle floor brush if it is in good shape. Mine is a bit worn.
Is it a 9, or an 11 inch one? Genuine Eureka?
Can you post a picture?

9" genuine 1970s.

It came with some other things I bought recently.

It's dirty, but I think it would clean up.

I'd put it in the dishwasher, then do a manual clean, and put through the dw again. I've had good luck with that.

I wouldn't put the chrome part in the dw though. It needs general cleaning and polish.

Delaney,

Thank's for the picture. Mine looked a bit better before I cleaned it.
I used orange liquid dish soap, and a little bleach to disinfect it. Then some liquid clear polymer wax.
Too bad it's not the 11 inch brush that I think the model 1289 and 1290 came with.
Unless, that was the difference in the model numbers. The only other that I can figure is motor amperage. My 1290 is 11.9 amps, and has a dish bump out on the bottom, maybe for the larger motor.
It seems I saw pictures of a 1289 and the rating label said 10.7 amps.

This came from a, as EurekaPrince calls them, a 'Turtle vac' and I've adopted that name because its simply GENIUS !

The vac is 1 h.p.

I'm guessing the wider floor tools came with more "deluxe" models.

In the 70s we had a relative with a Nutone Central Vac that had the same type Eureka tool sets.

Delaney,

yes, "turtle" is a good name for those. Easy for older folks to handle or for smaller homes and apartments, or the second or third floor you didn't want to lug the big vac up and down to, or even RV's.
I think there was also one power team model offered. K Mart sold them.

I have a brochure from the mid 70s showing a power team model. It's blue, with the welded on metal handle, no tool rack, I think a 1 h.p. motor (if that), and the typical 70s Eureka pn. Can't remember if it's an electric hose, or if it has a hose cord.

I WANT IT !

Blue turtle, etc.;

They made one with a cord running along the hose? That's so not like Eureka, and more like Rainbow or Filter Queen.
The orange budget H bag series K Mart sold all had electric hoses.
Did you see the gold "sweet 16" S type bag full size for sale? It's one of the first power teams. No cordaway, no headlight, just a wooden distribulator beater bar brush roller.
The wood grain decal on the PN is in nice shape though.
If you found a turtle, you could use the electric hose, and install a socket in it for the PN cable. That's what drills and roto zips are made for.

"...you could use the electric hose, and install a socket in it for the PN cable. That's what drills and roto zips are made for"

I know, I know.

I have a Dremel, several receptacles, rivets, screws, drills, drill bits, pencils, electric hoses, and pns.

I also have about 12 vacuums sitting in my workshop waiting to be processed. Plus at least six more on their way.

I need to get caught up.

Still, its most fun finding an original.

I found my brochure from 1976, and yes, they did have the plastic hose with a hose cord.

It's basically the same hose and wands as the straight suction canister, but,

they Swapped out the the straight suction floor tool, bent chrome attachment arm, and the bristled floor brush FOR

the pn, hose cord, hose cord straps, 2 plastic "U" shaped channels for the wands, 4 chrome wand channel holders PLUS installed a receptacle AND put dimples on the sides of the wands to hold the 4 chrome wand channel holders.

Ok Delaney,

That 3220 is sharp. I like the plastic handle better than the metal one on the 1245.
Do those take style H bags, same as a princess?
