I want to buy an S & F vacuum (late 1920s to early 1930s).
Will pay top dollar.

A Sott & Fetzer machine is one of only two machines on my wish list.

After seeing a posting last week of a beautifully restored S & F machine I had to give this posting a try.

I may not find one that is beautifully restored--but maybe I will find one that still has its wheels, nozzle and handle :-)
Fingers crossed.

I “borrowed” the photo below from the Kirby Company youtube video of this machine.

Thanks and wish me luck.

Kevin,

There are actually three different versions of the Scott & Fetzer Sanitation System.

The first one, produced from 1928 to 1930, had a directly-connected bag assembly.

The second one, produced from 1930 to 1932, had the new Sani Em-Tor trap door. The outer bag will say "NEW SANI EM-TOR."

And then comes the third one, produced from 1932 to 1934. This last version retains the Sani Em-Tor from the second version but also adds a safety switch which prevents the motor from running without something attached to it. The outer bag on this last version will say "NEW SAFETY."

Words of hope and encouragement

Thanks guys for your info, photo and words of wisdom.

I may take up a foreign language or needlepoint while I wait for one of my "dream" vacuums to show up on my doorstep.
