Hi all, recently received a Hoover 150 and need replacement brush roll brushes. Can anyone help? Also, what belt does it take? This one came with the original sales receipt and handbook as well as all the tools and useable hose!!! Looking to get it serviced, can anyone help?
Thanks!!!

Hi,

I recently acquired a 150 also in very good original condition. The motor and brush roll are being serviced by Andy a fellow member who owns a vac shop. He has been very
responsive to questions and helpful. His email is [email protected] Phone 815-768-7066.

I have put large Eureka RD belts on my old Hoovers. It is tight on the 150 so I stretched it on a vice on my work bench, works great. He can have your brush strips refurbished.

Someone had repainted my machine in a very close color badly. I have stripped the paint and in the process of applying the final coat. In fact going out to see if Rustolium Stone Gray is close enough to the original color and sheen.

Will be posting photos of the restoration soon. Robert

Hi Ken! Yes the Eureka belt is the one to use in the 150. The original belt was the Hoover 44783 but that is temporarily out of production as Hoover is changing their belt supplier. I have one last set of New 150 brush strips with your name on them.

And correction to Bob's post, I don't own a shop. I do sales and repair out of my basement.

If the agitator is the original it uses 86181 (long) and 86182 (short) brush strips.
I rebristle my own brushrolls and brush strips, it's not that hard.

I get my bristle material on ebay, it's just horsehair.
The first pic is of a brushroll that I replaced the first 3 bristles because they were gone, the 2nd and 3rd pics are of brush strips before I put them in the agitator and did a final trim.

Just do a search on bulk horsehair.

I sent a brushroll to O'Connors he had it for several months ( I realize that he was busy so it wasn't any big deal) when I got it back it was an ok job but I spent some time getting all the ply-o-bond out of the bristles so they weren't sticks of bristles. I finally got the bristles separated so they brush the carpet instead of acting like a beater bar.

Then I figured out how to rebristle myself.

You have a friend at Hoover? I didn't know you speak Chinese!

how do you re-bristle brush strips?

@bikerray! You mention in the thread attached that you re-bristled your own brush strips. Can you reveal your method to us? I have 4 918 that have worn our brush strips and am having a hard time finding any.
I got that you get the horsehair on Ebay, and dont know what ply-0-bond is, but will look it up.
Thanks in advance! Ken
