Hello all,

I am wondering if anyone might have some spare stuff for a G.E. canister, Model VIIC7, mint green and chrome with white trim. (See photo.)

I've been spending a lot of time working on and organizing my garage-workshop. In doing so, I've come across some machines I haven't played with in a while, and this G.E. is one of them.

It only came with the original green rug tool and upholstery nozzle. There is a dusting brush but it's white. I'd really love to find the original matching floor nozzle most of all, but it would be great to also find the original dusting brush and crevice tool.

Or the alternative would be to get a set of white attachments. Either way would be fine.

Also, mine is lacking the attachment caddy. Any of those floating around anywhere?

And maybe this is wishing for too much, but an original hose would be great, too, either green with white stripes or white with green stripes.

But the main thing I'd like to get is the bare-floor tool so I can use the machine in my apartment.

And, of course, I'm willing to pay for the parts and the postage.

A final query: The on-off switch is wonky and I can't figure out what's wrong with it. If I reach my finger under the foot-lever I can push the switch button and turn it on and off, but something is preventing the foot lever from making contact. The little spring is under there so it's not that. Any ideas?

Thanks, and I hope everyone is well and happy.

Charles..

If im not mistaken, that is a push button switch mounted under the pedal, it probably has been changed at some point and was not adjusted out far enough.

Hi Hans, yes, it's a push-button switch. It would be a simple matter to adjust it out further, except that I can't figure out how to get the switch cover off. It appears to be permanently attached to the motor body.

To Charles

Hey Charles I have a GE swivel top canister that's beige /tan color, it has quite a few attachment with it including the original hose with white attachments and a set or two of wands. Email me at: [email protected] if you would be interested in it. It has what looks to be the original box. Nathan

You dont..

Have to take the cover off, you have to remove the motor and then remove the nut on the front of the switch pull it back thru, then adjust the retaining nut,put it all back together, the biggest problem is GE used some kind of stupid screw to fasten the motor down with that as far as I know there has never been a screwdriver that fit, I grab them with needle nose vice grips.
