Hi there i am thinking about trying to get a different vac to use as a daily driver and as i have mainly hard floors and rugs would like a cylinder type, most of my vac collection is uprights , and the cylinders i do have are either very old 1930s 40s or a constellaton or celebrity type, and i would like to get a late 1960s early 70s uk electrolux , ideally with orginal hose, cord rewind and good suction, can any members recommend one to keep an eye out for as i mainly know hoover numbers etc, or does anyone have a one they want to sell? or i am even contemplating a modern dyson that has the wrap around hose ( again not sure of number) but i used one this morning and liked it, especailly its compactness to hide in a cuboard.

hi Rich

if you go to our "my neighbours blue lux" and "Trident uk vacs" threads these will give you some loveley examples of turn of decade (60sinto70s) lux cylinders some with paper bag inserts..... they had a very good reputation for good suction and long lasting sturdiness.... i know ive had a few
