I have the manual...this was a family members vacuum cleaner and have fond memories of playing with the vacuum. The manual also shows model 116.2581, not sure what the difference was between the 2581 and 2591, I have other manuals as well and this is the case... Not sure how each model differs between 10 digits.

This particular vacuum was featured in the 1975 Sears Fall/Winter Catalog, page 1081. It was the 3rd canister down from the TOL model. It was green, NO faux wood accents...no headlight but not a cheap model, had many great features that the TOL model had, less the detachable tool garden tray, headlight, and longer hose...anyways...

I have a picture below, found online...not a great photo but it's all I have... vacuum is gone/sold.

Thrill of the hunt is great, but if anyone has one and is willing to sell or trade...please let me know.

Thank you.

Sears canister

I have many Kenmore from 50s-70s upstairs at old store that need to GO.Not sure about this exact model.Call 423-268-4841 and I will walk up and look.If you ever come over to Boone or Asheville that is an easy drive over the mountain from me.
(The EBay vac is high price for condition.I wonder if seller will ever know that the Powermate wand separates from nozzle & at middle?!)

Thank you for taking my call...I'm sure this is overwhelming and appreciate your time. Looking forwarding to the trip out and will confirm what Saturday with a call prior to coming by and checking out what you have.

MAKE SURE YOU EAT LUNCH AT RIDGEWOOD!!!!

No trip to Jimmys would be complete without going there!!!!BEST BBQ on earth!

Kenmore

Took a quick look upstairs and don't see this exact style but have same or similar Powermate and many hoses. Most I saw are smaller style starting in early 60s but may be a few more hiding in downstairs corners.

Thank you for checking, like we discussed, mainly interested in canister vacuums, Hoover, Eureka, Kenmore, even Electrolux but open to seeing what you have. Maybe some uprights too, mainly Hoover though.

Kenmores that old can be difficult to find. I'd been after the Sears Best model from that time, in green and yellow with woodgrain on top, attachment tray and 2 speed. I've never had one turn up since I've been collecting, a few incomplete gray ones from the 60s. The closest I found to what I wanted was Sears Best white with orange bumpers and no Power Mate.

My advice is to keep looking at thrift store and estate sales or barn sales. The junkier the better, more likely old vacuums will surface.

The issue is these vacuums are well past the age where people have been using them anymore, so it's unlikely people still have them to sell or get donated.

I finally lost interest in finding one, but I have found others I've been after, so you never know what may turn up.

That eBay is probably most likely your best bet, but the bidding or buy it no prices just gets crazy on everything.

PowerMates

Yes!!As I told you when you called some will go with 60s-70s vacs.Others are in large boxes I haven't seen for 3 plus years.ALL need to Go.May have a local vac guy wanting mid 80s and newer 5055 styles.Have little time to search for these and NO time this week until Sun.
