Hello all,
I have a vintage deep fryer called "Southern Fry". There is an Aunt Jemimia type character holding up a plate of fried chicken. There is a sun behind her that lights up when it's on. Can anyone tell me anything about this. I have searched for any info on this on the internet, buy nothing comes up...

Post a picture...

If you can...Id love to see it, I have a Presto called a Dixie Fryer, but Ive never heard of one with a Aunt Jemima character, although I have an Aunt Jemima pancake griddle by Presto.

Nessco or Dormeyer clone perhaps

I see similarities to fryers of the late 1950s and early 1960s, I like the fitted lid but it was not meant to be used during cooking, condensation would collect and drip down the sides creating a electrical hazard. Must stronger and more substantial than the lid of the Presto fryer of the same time period. Also this lid would have been easier use if an unfortunate grease fire would have erupted to seal off air from the flame. I sure hope no one ever had this happen to them but I know some who have and have the damaged cabinets as a reminder
