what is the Rainbow ( Pul-back beater brush )? There is an old manual on ebay right now for a D-2 and it looks to be a straight suction model but it has a page in the manual with the attachments and this was one of them. It's not the turbo tool by Preco because that too is on this page.
Also, about what year did Rainbow introduce the power nozzle, not the Eureka nozzle but the Whirlpool nozzle?

Some time in the mid 60s I believe. The first one they used was the L shaped one with the headlight, like one of those Lady Kenmore Whispertones used, they used the matching hose with the plastic machine end connector changed out for a Rainbow hose end and added a pigtail to plug it in. The second was a black W/P nozzle that looked a lot like a CVR 2000. That one had a long white wand with a bend about 2/3 of the way down and used the normal Rainbow hose and end with a cord attached to it. Both of these used a 2 prong socket that had to be added to the machine body by the dealer. It was sort of a last minute thing to make a sale if the customer just had to have it.

Pul Vac beater brush.

This was something similar to a vibra beat,I was told it made a lot of noise and did very little other than seal to the carpet so it was hard to push, instead of vibra beaters it had a plastic piece that somehow vibrated in the mouth of the nozzle.
