Hi, I have an old filtex model 19-b vacuum. I was curious if anyone on here knows any history or information on filtex and when they quit making canister vacuums. I can only seem to find informatiom on their central vacs.My filtex does not say emdeko on it In Which I heard others do. Is there anyway to find out roughly what age it is? Thanks in advance

See Thread #2660

Hello All and cousineddy,
Good info on this Thread 2660. Just type only the number onto the Vacuumland Google search.
Thank you for looking,
Pete

Thank you very much for the thread number, definitely a good read! But it's still got me wandering if my filtex is not labeled emdeko due to age or other reasons And when filtex quit canister production ?

Hello All and cousineddy,
Check out the above Thread Number and read on down.
Also take a look at Thread Number 22037. I really like the rear wheel fenders.
I wonder if they were thinking of Buster Crabbe when they designed it?
Thank you for looking,
Pete

Emdeko

Was later on, the one you have is probably from the mid 60s or before, I have one made in 1968 that's a Emdeko, The motor is a lamb and all Lamb motors are dated, both on the fan housing and the armature.Filtex was run by Mrs Emma K Hoppe, after her husband died.

Would you consider selling it?

If you have the rest(or most) of the attachments, I may be interested in buying it if you want to get rid of it.

I have been eyeing these Filtex machines since reading an archived thread about them. How is the performance on them, Hans? I know the attachments are of very good quality.

I started taking it apart today, would this (the 10 57) be the date stamp on the armature ? And thank everyone for the help, much appreciated !
