Well here are two different lux heads. I want to know, why were some of them featuring a large flip over side, and some of them only had a small flip over head? You know the tough spot cleaner head thing? Here are my two examples:

Hey George:

The model 65 rug nozzle you have there was the first version put out. I would assume that they decided that it was too small a cleaning area as it was soon changed to the larger one that then was used on the subsequent models. (65-80-90-91-100)

Is that an 80 rug nozzle? On my screen it looks like a dark green rather than a blue.

As Doug has said, it was only the first of this design to have the small section in the middle. This was, I assume, a carry over from the more basic carpet-only tools used on the 62 and then on early 64, which had very small section for cleaning threads.

Although coverage would have been minimal, I think for cleaning threads it was possibly adequate. I think the change was probably more to do with the overall weight of the floor tool, as this tool was very heavy and would possibly require a good deal of dexterity to keep the tool in the upturned position on the tools with the smaller section.

Hi George:

If its Dark Green it would be for the model 100 but I have never seen one, even in adverts with a green nozzle. All the ones I've seen have been white like the one on mine below. May be a fairly rare piece.

Hey James:

Thanks. I wouldn't mind but I just haven't the time to do it or the money. At this point it would have to be redone totally and, as I am not great with a computer, it would take way more time than I have to get it done. Someday possibly but it wont be in the near future.

Doug
