Hi Brian,

Thanks for the link- it's a lil' honey alrite!!

Here's the kicker...

I worked at Gay Toys in the late seventies. Midnights. Everything was plastic by then. Nothing as cool as this.

KirbyKid,
It's special because Hoover pulled the first and last of all of their machines and stored them in "The Hoover Vault." Now that vault has been mostly cleared out to my knowledge as TTI is pulling Hoover out of North Canton Ohio. The Hoover Historical Center was bought by the Walsh University in North Canton Ohio so they have some units. So essentially this power head canister is brand new, either the 1st or last or so off the line of this model which was made in the 70's. It's a low end Celebrity since it has wrap around cord storage, no headlight and I'm not sure about attachment storage with this model. But nevertheless, these were powerful, excellent cleaning machines and built to last. The power nozzle bottom plate is metal, the suction unit is mostly metal. It's a nice red color too!!

Absolutely Robert....I remember seeing plenty of Eureka "Wide-Trak"s as they were called in the 1970's. They even had a compatible "Wide-Trak" version of the beige Eureka tool set, which offered an extra-wide pan converter for the hose and an extra wide bare floor brush - all stored in an extra-wide cardboard attachment box.

I saw many of these before I ever saw the equivalent Sanitaire versions....They all had extra long Vibra Groomer One brushrolls.

Someone out there must have the official Eureka spec sheets from the 1970's for these Wide-Trak vacs....

YES!!

Kirbykid, Yes, of that specific model number. Its one of first or last of that model number off the production line. It's nearly impossible to know exactly which it is whether its the one of the first off the production line or one of the last, but vault machines were one of those spectrums.

I saw one of those cast cutting devices with the rotomatic in 2 different hospitals when I was 12 years old and had to get my cast cut off. I hated when it was being used because I thought it was going to cut through my skin even though the doctor kept telling me that it would not.

Roto-Matic

I have a somewhat similar Eureka for Wahl that picks up hair from 2 clippers. It came from an older barber shop with a barber who lived to 90.I have also seen a Hoover Swingette type in doctors office as a cast saw vac.

OK Guys

I am starting to thin the herd.  Decided I need to scale back in preparation for a possible move.  I will be selling machines three at a time.  The whole collection is not going but it will be scaled back considerably.  No reserve.  Good machines.  First up a Hoover Innovation with attachments.  These are rare in the US but really good cleaners.  Good luck.
