I was in a vac shop recently that had a couple of Tacony made canisters with power nozzles. There was a lovely USA sticker on each one of the power nozzles, so I thought they were the ones that were now assembled in the USA. Well, upon looking at the manufacturing label on the bottom of each machine, one said made in Korea, the other, made in China. Huh, what? Can you imagine the suprise/dismay of a new owner, if they ever look at that? It wasn't a shop that I frequent often, so I didn't confront them...just an under my breath, "well I'll be dipped" under my breath and sauntered out.

From my understanding Tacony recently moved production of full sized canisters from Asia to Missouri. So technically, the "canisters" are American made. However, I too have seen those stickers and thought the same as you.  I'm disappointed to hear the power nozzles are still foreign made. They should look into moving that sticker.

You know what Bagintheback, I hear that story about Tacony assembling vacuums in the US over and over again, but I have yet to see one that actually says Made in the USA on the data tag. That Simplicity S24 I was going to buy from Evan Baier said Made in Korea on it, and another I saw on Craigslist said Made in China on the powered floor brush data tag. Until I actually see one that says Made in the USA on the vacuum and powered floor brush data tag I tend to believe we are being told a sea story.

Take a look at reply#3 on the thread I've linked. You can see on a brand new Riccar PN it's labeled "Made in the USA with globally sourced components".  So it seems that all the parts are actually put together in Missouri. I wonder why everyone is seeing foreign-made models with USA stickers. Maybe the dealers are acting a bit shady?

The Full size Immaculate and Impeccable machines and the Simplicity counterparts are made here in the USA.

I was just at the factory and saw the body parts coming out of the injection mold presses.

The power nozzles are made in the USA as well.

Anything other than the full size canisters and the full size power nozzles are made elsewhere but are repackaged in the USA... The 1500's are not made anymore, but they were, in the end, packaged with American made power nozzles.

Picture 1 is the guy drilling the press 'stump' off the body base for the full size canister, picture two is a PN being assembled and pic 3 is a box of scratched nozzle covers.

If you want an American Made canister, it has to be a Gusto, Moxie, Impeccable, or Immaculate. The S24 is a long retired model, as is the 1500 series. All the Simplicity and Riccar uprights are made in the USA. Canister sales account for less than 5% of the total vacuum sales, it doesn't make sense to move all canister production to the factory in Missouri - there's limited room so it must be used for large selling models. All power nozzles are made in the USA.
