Tom......

Southbound Miss Gulch came tossing newsletters right and left and mine made it! The Christmas edition on St. Valentine's Day!

Should that be Happy St. Christmas? Word has it that the chain on her bike broke around Winchester, VA and she had to barter her way into a repair......

John

The housekeeper let me know. I was in San Diego yesterday and my husband was away as well. I check in daily. She said it was very nice and, "The Hoover on the front is like one of the ones in your office".

That was a reference to my 29! Thanks for your work. I was an editor at one time also and I know it isn't all cakes and ale.

Worth waiting for!!

Well, I am a little late to this party, having received my Newsletter last week, but the Newsletter was indeed worth waiting for! The copy, pics, and layout were great, and I especially enjoyed the tributes to the incomparable Ruth Hollander. She indeed represented the finest this Club has included. So, please accept my Kudos to our Editor and Graphic Designer for a job well done.

As for negative comments relative to the length of time it has taken to receive some Newsletters, I would think that those people would comprehend that, once mailed, it is solely in the hands of the US Post Office to be responsible for actual delivery. Unkind and attacking comments on a few peoples' parts only serves to establish their lack of either understanding or character, though I'm certain neither were a huge surprise to the rest of us reading them. "Haters gotta hate".

With thanks,
RBinOC

A few things...

1. I wonder how I could get on the mailing list for this newsletter.

2. In Electroluxxxx’s comments...Mike you suggest not contacting Aerus for information on Electrolux because they bought the Electrolux vacuum cleaner division so the dealers are not the original ones. This statement is incorrect. First the article discusses the US Electrolux company it seems, not the Swedish Electrolux company I gather feom the mention of the model F and G. ( Inhave not seen the article) Today’s Aerus dealers were always the United States and Canadian Electrolux dealers and the company name was changed to Aerus when Electrolux of Sweden wanted to buy back the name to sell their Eureka made Electrolux branded vacuum cleaner products here in the US. But that created a problem as there was the US Electrolux vacuum cleaners already. Aerus as a company did not exist at all before then, the name Aerus was created to rename the US Electrolux company in the deal where Electrolux of Sweden bought the rights to the US Electrolux name from the US Electrolux company which completed in 2003. This essentially left the US Electrolux company without a name and that’s when the new name Aerus was “created” from inception as the new name for the US Electrolux company. Certain rights for a Aerus to use the Electrolux and Lux brand names were part of the deal and that’s why we see the company referencing the Electrolux name on store fronts and products such as the current genuine bags. So Aerus IS the Original US Electrolux company which actually was started when the Swede who was making Electrolux in Sweden brought his machines here and sold them in New York. After importing the machines and a ship sank with an entire load of the vacs, they built a factory here in the US and then eventually it was broken off into its own company separated from its Swedish roots. Then the two companies were completely separate but both running under the same name in different countries and the products evolved and developed differently and eventually Eureka bought the Swedish Electrolux division. Swedish Electrolux didn’t want to sell their products in the us so there was never an issue but when they decided to after importing their other appliances to the US, that’s when there became a problem of two different Electrolux named companies in the same country both selling vacuum cleaners which was creating a lot of confusion and even after the name change people thought the Swedish Eureka Electrolux was the old US Electrolux as the US company did a poor job of publicizing the name change and frankly allowing the name to be sold was detrimental to the company as a whole to this day as many still think the company is gone and been turned into the Eureka made products which coincidentally are no longer sold here in the US once again. So in theory, Aerus could (and should, in my opinion) get the rights back to the Electrolux name for vacuum cleaners here in the US.

3. I noticed a correction that the Model F was the first Electrolux to offer a power nozzle. This is true and I learned that here in this website from other members as for a long time so thought it was the G as well. But Charles Lester corrected me showing a photo of a color matched model F power nozzle with the entire machine. But I’m surprised that this information was not well enough researched to be correct before publishing the newsletter as posts here do talk about that. Perhaps when a particular brand is to be printed in a newsletter the writer can call upon expert members for that brand to contribute or proof the article so the printed word ends up correct. Though I know some may think what they know is correct but could indeed be incorrect as I have been on a few occasions.

I THINK they have all finally arrived

with exception of Alex T. New address..
It was utterly amazing that some got to California before N Carolina.
But, it was all in the hands of The U.S. Postal Service. Sorry for any delays.
Bills are coming late, etc.
So...... now, we'll begin preparing for the next one. (crazy, I know, but.) Perhaps they'll reach mailboxes on Halloween.
So, Eureka will be our next 'spotlight', not sure how many pages, but, that's the plan.
So, feel free to send photos, articles, tips, recipes, 'wish list', 'sale item', etc.
Thanks, VCCC members.
Oh, we just added 4 new members. There will be more about them shortly.

Christmas issue of the Newsletter.

Hi John:

I just got the Newsletter in todays mail, and love it. You did a fantastic job with the Electrolux material I sent you.

By the way, we just listed the house here in Nutrioso, Arizona, and should be in the Fort Lauderdale area sometime in late spring, or early summer.

Alex Taber.
