VacuumLand – Vintage & Modern Vacuum Enthusiasts

Help Support VacuumLand:

Yes, Mr. Gravelin, I'm totally aware of

all of that. But, it really isn't up to you OR necessary to step in there. I told Sam I will get that newsletter (he does have a a copy of the drive, after all, he made the thing with me), and the pillows . I've been a little busy recently.
Again, perhaps he appreciates you stepping in, but it really is of no concern to you.
I will get that done, but, not because you are urging me to do it.
You have lots to do for yourself, also.

Just like it wasn’t necessary for you to have Tom posting for you during your trip to Ohio, throwing Jabs towards other people. People who you don’t need to mention but it’s very apparent of whom you refer to... I don’t have to step in at all, but as a true friend to Sam and many others I will stick up for my friends and I’m not afraid to do so at all. You seem to take a lot of credit for something that’s supposed to be a group effort and since Sam has resigned from the newsletter to him it seems as if that’s all he was good for considering most to all communication between you two has completely stopped. Not to mention he also felt that you took most of the credit for the work he created. He may have the copy on his drive but he paid for the physical copy. If everyone can get their stuff in a timely matter why can’t the one who did the work? Is this his punishment for resigning? Was it proper to announce to him that he “would have gotten the award at the convention but is no longer eligible due to resigning” that’s kind of like giving someone something and then taking it away. Isn’t that teasing?

This thread is about the newsletter.

WE can discuss anything in messenger, I've unblocked you for that purpose. IF you care to discuss.
I'm NOT getting into a match with you. As far as Tom posting for me... I was in his home, using his computer. I shared my trip for others to enjoy and see.As far as jabs. are you kidding??
Private messenger. This thread is for the newsletter.
I thanked Sam over and over. Everyone knows the hard work he put into them. As did I... nights of hard work on my part as well.
Sorry, everyone else, for this display.

I know, it seems crazy, but............................

We're just thinking/brainstorming about the next issue.
We'll spotlight a different vac company, add recipes, ads, photos, stories. What would YOU members like to see?
There are some fantastic VINTAGE vac photos, info, etc.
So, elegant, kitschy, whimsical. all of the above?
Start thinking about comfort food recipes............ Time will go fast.
Thanks, in advance.

Oh, for crying out loud

While I am no longer a member of the VCCC I feel I can speak here as a former member for many years, former Webmaster and co-creator of this site as well as newsletter editor for a number of years (and former board member.) Also, since this site is no longer affiliated with the VCCC I feel I can express my opinion on this thread.

A large part of what the members of the VCCC expect for the dues paid is 4 newsletters a year. In a number of surveys of the members, this is one of the most important expectations of the dues payment. This is especially important since there was no convention this year. I was newsletter editor for a number of years and also solicited items to be included but didn't badger people for contributions. Usually I didn’t get enough contributions for a complete newsletter, but as editor made it my business to gather everything necessary on my own to get the newsletter out on a timely basis. We always did – 4 a year. You are giving the members a good reason to not pay their dues. What do they get for them?

This thread about the VCCC newsletter has been going on for months now and still no newsletter. It appears that the last newsletter was published around Christmas and it is now almost the end of August. That means two newsletters should have been issued and you should be preparing the third. I am tired of hearing about how this is not getting done. Take it offline please. And strictly speaking, this thread should not be on the Vintage Forum it should be in Miscellanea, if it is anywhere here at all.

'For crying out loud"?

Fred, I'm sensing hostility. I'm so sorry you're upset.. WE never hear from you. Yes, we have a newsletter. Yes, perhaps we have made decisions on how many to issue. But, if you're longer associated with The VCCC, why would you really care about that at all? People love the newsletter. We've even gotten 8 new members since last year. Some are former members. I ask for info, and I get it. Anyone who EVER worked on a letter knows the work involved. I don't think I've badgered anyone. I didn't ever realize I was or could even badger. Folks, IF you feel you've been badgered, I humbly apologize. But, as will all posts, if anyone doesn't like a post, or a poster, for that matter, we can simply ignore it or even block it.
You and I, Fred, never had a cross word. We barely spoke at all. We all enjoyed all of your posts about your collection, and we can't forget Tarantula Arms, fun times.
I, again, wish to thank Robert for allowing us to speak in here. This is the only venue where everyone can see everything. Others post mini meets, or even conventions or meetings of any kind. We appreciate that. I could mention that there are loads of VINTAGE vacuums in this newsletter, keeping it a valid, vintage worthy post.
So, Fred, it's nice to see you. I hope you're not too angry . Are you upset with me? Please, please feel free to email me privately, as, nobody wants/needs to see still another display in here. Not intending to badger....
Thanks, so much.

Fred , Reggie and anyone else who wants to chime in,

It's very easy to sit at your computer to complain and be critical about the work
somebody is doing on a job NOBODY else wants to do.Maybe this thread should have been put in miscellaneous because for non members you sure do wine alot about everything, and I'm pretty sure I'm not the only member who's getting tired of it.I though this website was about vacuum cleaners.I'm not here to defend John as he is a big boy and can take care of himself and as I already said I'm tired of reading this kind of crap.If anybody has a problem with me voicing my thoughs on this subject please feel free to email me personally as this thread is about the coming news letter.
Thank You all for letting me get this off my chest,
I wish you all good health and happiness.
GOD BLESS.
Joe.

Joe

Excuse me? Easy to sit at my computer and “wine” (sic) and complain? I sat at my computer for years and published 4 issues of the newsletter a year without whining and complaining. This thread has no place here as this is supposed to be a place to discuss vintage vacuum cleaners, not continuously solicit material that the VCCC newsletter editor should be gathering as editor. But it goes on and on and on. The newsletter editor keeps moving it to the top of this forum and subjecting non-VCCC members to the problems of the VCCC on an inappropriate forum. I am just saying as having years of experience of doing that job, do your job and get on with it.

And let me remind you, this site no longer belongs to the VCCC. This is an open forum for any person interested in vacuum cleaners and people are generally welcome to express their opinion here.

Well, Fred,

I'm not going to belabor anything. I'm also not complaining OR whining. As you mentioned, it is a place for all to post. And, I do. I'm not begging people for things. And, we all have prepared a newsletter differently.
I mean you NO harm at all. I also don't deserve to be insulted. I'm not getting involved in a "thing" in here. Peace to you, Fred, "Ida".

But let’s be honest...

You already have a veritable boatload of issues already, did ya really need to pick up more last night??

You want to follow me around the internet reminding me that you still exist...

You make it out like people just love attacking you for no reason, but when people do back off and let you be, you can’t stand it, so you move in with the digs and behind the back stuff. Going around on Facebook, unblocking people just to taunt them, then blocking them again.

You’re a foul, bitter, jealous F C of the nastiest sort.
