I was asked to pass this message along from the president of the VCCC

As most of you know, the country is dealing with the effects of a virus that has shut down all social gatherings for the foreseeable future. The board of the VCCC has decided to cancel this year’s convention. At this point we do not know when we will be able to gather in groups again. Since we don’t know that, we felt we should just cancel for this year. Many people would be having to make plane reservations in advance and we do not even know what air travel will be like once we get past this. Our current plan is to hold next year’s convention in Atlanta with Ken Hedrick hosting, as we had planned on for this year. We will keep you informed if anything changes.

Absolutely the right decision! The future is on hold at this point. Better to be safe and healthy at this point. I work for American Airlines here in St. Louis and our flights have been cut more than fifty per cent and loads are about twenty percent where it used to be ninety to one hundred always. They are offering up to a year leave of absence...the world is changing for the foreseeable future.

Absolutely for the best..........

<span style="font-family: 'comic sans ms', sans-serif;">I was very sorry to receive this message, but........</span>

<span style="font-family: 'comic sans ms', sans-serif;">I agree completely.  I look forward to the conventions each year, However this year is different in so many ways and we can count on nothing.</span>

<span style="font-family: 'comic sans ms', sans-serif;">I applaud the board for being so responsible in their judgement.</span>

<span style="font-family: 'comic sans ms', sans-serif;">Wishing everyone stays happy, healthy, and AT HOME.</span>

<span style="font-family: 'comic sans ms', sans-serif;">Best wishes. See you next year.</span>

Thank you for the update

Kenny,
We in the VCCC appreciate your concern and wise choices. I'll miss seeing my VCCC friends, their families/partners, and meeting new members. Like others I'll make efforts to keep in contact with those and look forward to seeing them in a little over a year in Atlanta. I'm sure Ken has great plans for the convention and a great time will be had by all.

In the meantime, after we learn more about Covid 19 and how to contain it's spread and we're able to meet in groups again, we can see other members by having some mini meets, maxi meets, or micro meets. Meanwhile my neighbors will continue to text me for help on replacing the belt on their Convertible or performing an autopsy on their Sprawl Mart vacuum and placing said vacuum on their porch or carport, thus preserving social distancing standards. Please reach out to those in your neighborhood who may not have local support or family, and make yourself available in the safest manner possible.
Best wishes to everyone,
Sean
