Got this down from the loft today as not used it for a while and I’ve not seen anyone else say they have it on here so thought I would share some pics and info about this cleaner. I got this nearly a year ago and it’s not a bad cleaner but it has its faults that I’ll cover later. This version is the top model in the range, its 1500 watt 310 air watts and not too noisy either. It comes with loads of accessories and a six year guarantee, the main hose is very long and I find it annoying because it means the cleaner does not follow you very well and has a habit of getting stuck in door frames and on furniture, it’s fairly light to carry anyway enough of my rambling lol .....

Post motor HEPA in the wheel this is a weakness with this model and the cover has a habit of falling off in use and the filter pops out so you can be vacuuming without any post motor filter until you notice!

Hi Dan,

That's a nice toolkit that comes with that cleaner! I like the 2 hose idea so the stretch hose isn't the one to use for normal floor vacuuming. If only the Maytag Satellite came with that toolkit, I would've got on with it much better.

Ps. I really like your shoes :P

NIce vac that is - was tempted myself. Notice that due to the primary separator being on the outside of the canister, it makes much more room for dirt in the main canister. The Dyson DC38 can hardly hold anything before getting to the full line near the bottom of the canister, as most of the canister is taken up with the cyclone assembly.
The Vax mach Air cylinder is a very interesting design in that it also takes the output from the cyclones and diverts it down to the rear of the canister down a small chute for easy emptying. The one drawback with this design is that the primary separator, being quite small clogs easily if anything large such as tissue or a sock for example is sucked up. In the newer air mini, the primary is inside the main canister and uses the same principle to separate the dirt as the cheaper Power 5, 6 and 7 canisters, but the output of the primary separator on the Air Mini is then fed into the cyclone assembly rather than into the pre-motor filter as on the Power models. The idea being that the pre-motor filter then needs less cleaning. There's no doubt that Vax come up with some interesting designs - but the pity is that they then send them to China to be cheaply made, as I have seen myself recently with Vax's I have bought.

Would still like a Mach Air canister though - eventually, when I see one in Tesco for £50 lol

Hi,

Yep the DC38 is very compact I've a bit of a love/hate relationship with that cleaner, I will do a separate review and pics of it when I've cleaned it up lol

The Vax is a striking design that's what made me buy it, I'm into bagless and the different dust separation system on this model looked interesting. I didn't pay anywhere near the price that John Lewis, Amazon and Vax charge for it the and the RRP on Vax cleaners is crazy. I've seen the new Mach Air Mini in Homebase and it wasn't as mini as I expected I thought it was a DC26&#92DC38 rival it hardly seemed smaller than this Mach Air just a bit narrower so I've no desire to buy one!
