You know, one of the perks of collecting vacuum cleaners is that we never have to worry about getting bored with the machine we use to clean with! For example, I’m doing some cleaning today, and while my trusty Olympia One is patiently sitting in the corner waiting to be used, I wanted to change it up a little today. So, I went down to my shop in the basement and started looking through my vacuums. Decisions, decisions.....maybe the Renaissance today, or the Model G, or perhaps I’ll pull out the Commemorative and use it. No.....my eyes came to rest on a vacuum I have NEVER used! I bought this vac five or six years from shopgoodwill.com for $5 or $6. I cleaned it up and tested the motor at the time, then put it up and truthfully forgot about it. So today, I decided to put it through it’s paces.....don’t get me wrong, there’s plenty of apprehension about using a 60+ year old vacuum that I’ve not used before, but I’m happy to say it performed beautifully! The motor has a pleasant soft sound, and is very powerful, and the woven hose is still airtight, which really surprised me! Anyway, here’s my Compact C2 flat top.....
