Vacuuming in detention

I had detention because This boy was talking about something that is not age appropriate you know... I was telling him how stupid he is saying this in front of younger kids, The teacher heard me and gave me detention, I debated that I didn't do anything and that it is his fault. The teacher did not listen so then I am like fine.
I stayed behind and argued with him. the teacher told us to vacuum the rooms as a punishment, and I am like Really? i got happy but pretended to hate vacuuming so i could vacuum more rooms and get "punished" Te teacher rolled an Argos value range VC-04 yellow bagless cylinder into the room and told us to vacuum. The vacuum has such rubbish suction! then I heard another vacuum and this other boy had detention for no homework and he was using a .....................2012 Numatic Henry HVR200a! 3D face looks cool and has no eco logo. It is not an eco Henry lol, no wonder it doesn't have the eco logo and i like the storage feature, that's all, I took the Henry upstairs and vacuumed. I was not impressed because its louder than an eco henry and has slightly less suction than my Auntie's Auto-save Henry.

So all in all, great detention because I am innocent

Henry does have tools such as the soft dusting brush, crevice tool, tool adaptor and the stair tool and optional brush on the stair tool, but you can only store one of them on board

awesome detention!!! you wouldn't even have to put me in detention for that lol, i'd just stay behind every day so i could vacuum! i'm guessing you'll be getting into trouble more often now then lol!!!!

My school had Sanitaires years ago, so detention with a Sanitaire SC886 would have been fun!!

I never got detention, but always volunteered to go clean the chalk board erasers. I usually was done with my work first and would get bored out of my mind so the teachers always took me up on the offer. We had two eraser cleaning machines. One looked like a GE swivel top with a hose and the end of the hose had a rectangular tool a little bigger than an eraser with holes in it. You just turned it on and clapped the eraser on the tool. It must have had decent filtration because it was in the hall right by the secretary's office and I never remember it being dusty. The other was this machine that had a tray the width of the eraser that had a spinning brush in the middle with suction under it, almost like the brush was mounted to the pulley of a dirty air vac. It had a huge cloth bag that would inflate. All you did was slide the eraser back and forth over this tray and they were very thoroughly cleaned. I think a teacher had to be around to use that one, probably because you could stick your fingers into the fan if you weren't careful. Glad you enjoyed your detention!

my school has numatics, karchers, reddyvacs, vax's and a few premier mini vacs, so detention wouldn't be extremely fun as they never service the vacs so they are all crap lol!!!

I wish schools used bagless vacuums so it would be very fun! i would laugh if they used cheapo vacuums in a commercial environment

Turboace-- when I went to school, eraser cleaning was going outside with them and clapping them in the air. It was not fun and we had a lot of chalk dust on us when done.

That's awesome that your school had a vacuum for that!!

The last cruise ship my wife and I were on had a compliment of Henry canister vacs in the housekeeping department, so they had dozens and dozens of them. Red/black.

I was known to get into trouble when I was in school; made many trips to the vice principal's office for discipline. Not so often detention, more often something worse for greater offenses. Such as lighting a pile of gunpowder on fire in the middle of the campus quad. That got me suspended. These days, it might get you arrested.

In elementary school, blackboard erasers were purged by pounding them on asphalt pavement. Enough pounding and they'd take on a mushroomed effect. I had one teacher, 4th grade it was, who used them as missles to get the attention of daydreaming pupils. She usually aimed for the head, and when a pupil was struck, it would give off a "poof" of dust like the smoke from an impacting incendiary round.

I've been wronged by school authorities myself more than once. Long ago, I learned that even if you are in the right (more or less, compared to the other guy), the disciplinarians don't care. Once they make their snap decision on who is going to get it, you're done for. Once they decide, they cannot be persuaded by argument or debate. A change of mind would make them look bad or uncertain; they must cleave to their original ruling to maintain face if for no other reason. Also, an absolute ruling is easier than trying to adjudicate and sort things out. They'd have to listen and make their decision more carefully. No time for that; they've got other miscreants waiting in the wings, causing new trouble.
After I got out of high school, it wasn't very long before I joined the US Army. What a deal. There, within certain limits you are allowed to cause trouble of various sorts and they pay you to do it. So long as you cause trouble with/for the right people.

well parwaz, you said you'd laugh if they used cheap vacs- your school had that argos value range, so yeah, thats a cheap vac!!! also for some reason my school had a bagless vax upright in a block that has all hard floors, so really un-ideal!

when I was in school all we had a NSS M-1 pig. bulk dry pick up. they had a dusty cloth shake out bag and always smelled like dirt or dust mop oil because the janiotrs would vacuum there dust mops with them. fast foward a few years and now I am the janitor that gets too use the vac. my boss gave me a old one too fix up. they are all cast aluminum. they howl because there is almost no motor insulation so they can run for many hours and not over heat. With the newer air quality standards we have a paper liner bag inside of the cloth bag now.

I will gladly stay after "school" to run the NSS vacuum-BUT I have my own to use!!And love the Kirby/NSS M1 Monster vacuum!I use the paper bags in the cloth bag-do have some "Horse" logo cloth dump bags in my collection.NSS no longer makes the dump only bags-they make the NSS "orbit" logo bag like in Sanitaires picture-its a zipper bag NSS says you can use it as a dump bag or with paper ones.M1 vacs were are still are popular in schools.Its a good "do it all" machine.

I had one of those chalkboard eraser cleaners; but it got lost during a move.

When I was in grade school, they used to have those cleaners. Every student took turns each day vacing the erasers.

Our school has old numatics. They are the plastic type, but the bottom of the dirt bin is square. It is cylindrical all the way down to the bottom where it has like a square base with 4 casters. They are so quiet, and I got to use one of them once. Next time I see them I will have to take a picture Actually, I found one on google.. Here ya go!
