I've told this story on earlier posts, but it's possible the newer members may not know it.

This is the cover of the instruction book, and on the day of the photo shoot everything was set, then disaster, a phone call from the model who was to pose with the vacuum cleaner called to say she was unable to get there. The guy in charge moaned, and groaned about wasted time, money, and what not. Suddenly a voice from the camara crew called out "I can do it." The director gulped, looked at him, shook his head and asked "you can?" So the guy put on the dress, wig, got into make-up, and they did the shot. Nobody knows if the guy was a cross-dresser or not, nor do we know if he was even gay, but no doubt he was very popular around the set after that. So bad drag or not, the instruction book went to press.

A lot of people think it IS a woman, but the first time I saw the book, I knew, and did my research.

Wat.

You can clearly tell that is not a woman. That's a GUY. First glance, and you can tell. Just my secondhand opinion. Love the picture though.

VOD.

That dress, (or is it a skirt and blouse?) looks like a sack, and was the first thing that tipped me off all those years ago. I may be a gay guy, but I know a sexy woman when I see one, and clearly this ISN'T! As for that wig, Gawd awfull! I'm certainly no expert when it comes to drag, but this is a guy, no doubt about it.

Thank you Robert.

The vacuum of the day has really made me laugh. What a great way to end the year from hell, and let us all share a smile.

I know this is most likely the right thread to say this, but I'm going to anyway, I wish you and Fred a very Happy New Year, and this goes for all members of the V.C.C.C. and VacuumLand.

Hi poconoVacMan.

Thanks for pointing that out, this very well could be a cross-dresser, men usually have hairy legs, either he shaved before the photo shoot, or had them shaved prior. Could he be wearing stockings? and did they even have pantyhose back then?

To me, I cringe when I look at that dress/skirt. A little broad in the hips. I know, don't call him a broad, tacky term used in the 40's and 50's. And I'm not too fond of the room furnishings either, or am I just being too fussy?

By the way, Happy New Year,
Alex Taber.

Just caught my typo.

In reply 7 I goofed, now it's too late to correct the mistake. Fact is, I left out the word 'not.' Meant to say that it's not the right thread to wish Robert and Fred a Happy New Year.

Sorry about that guys.
Alex Taber.
