That was the same trip

When Clay made all manner of fun of the new Thermax and Mike Pletcher got that Lewyt Electronc working and it shocked hell out of Craig Long!!LOL I can hear Clay now,,: Who invented this damnable Rube Goldberg Contraption!"

all set

Ok, all set to go, I will be arriving tomorrow, I had said that I didn't think the Ritello was made as well as the other water filtration machines and unfortunately while putting it together I was proven right. When attempting to put the machine in to the dolly, the latch broke, I was able to get it back in but it no longer springs back when you press it and therefore does not hold the machine in place, I do still have the spring so I'm hoping someone can give me a hand in repairing it while I am there, assuming it's fixable.

I'll he happy to take a look at it Mike. Saturday is the demonstration for all of our friends of the water filtration vacuums. ChicagoMike (here on VL) has made T-Shirts commemorating the convention. He's an awesome friend.

We are showing the:
Ritello
Ocean Blue
Delphin
Hyla
Vivenso
Rainbow
Quantum
Big Power
Sirena
Pro Aqua

I would show the Thermax, but it doesn't have a separator and it's a monstrosity.

you forgot one

You forgot the Roboclean, that makes 11 total, probably the most water vacuums we have had in one place.
Made it to the Rolla hotel and am trying to cool the place off in here, it's a bit warm, I think it's going to be an awesome convention for sure. Can't wait to run each of the water vacs, and the tour on Friday sounds awesome, I'm going to use a digital recorder to record that, definitely something worth saving, will be nice to see other vacuum collectors again as well, this is definitely one of the things I look forward to each year now.

Having a great time! Amazing how Tom has never ending vacuum history stories. Never boring. [this post was last edited: 6/15/2018-17:04]

So far this has been an extremely fun time. Here I am tired as can be but can’t sleep from all the excitement! Oh I can’t believe I went 5 years missing out! But this one has been as fun as ever. It’s been fun meetin new people, people I’ve known for years but met for the first time, and seeing everyone that I haven’t seen in years, some more years than others... Made out well I the central vacuum department as well, crossed a few wants off the list, one a rather large one that I consider extremely rare, this one in particular being two of a kind... No pictures of this until Monday, and it’ll be following a video of it retracting a hide a hose, which it should do well...

I USED to have two Thermax machines that came from a Kirby trade in pile.USELESS machines as a vacuum cleaner.Pitiful airmovement.Their power nozzles didn't work. The machine was designed to be an upholstery cleaning machine more than a vacuum cleaner.I sold both to the old Vacuum cleaner Hospital for their parts. And these things were VERY heavy and awkward. The body was the clean solution tank.then there was the recovery tank that was to be used like a Rainbow or other wet filter vacuum. You needed a RR carpuller to move the machine-because of the weight the hose coupler at the machine side broke.Glad they are gone-can see why they were traded in!!!

If you had been to Toms in 96

When Clay trashed that Thermax you would have still been laughing!!! We all screamed! I miss him so bad, a sense of humor that was unreal!

convention was awesome

The convention was great, just got home, it was a blast. Enjoyed seeing everyone again and meeting some new people too. I didnt come back with anything new this year, everyone seemed to be selling uprights and I'm a canister person but I have some ideas for a couple new machines that I may get, I hope everyone enjoyed seeing the water vacs. Too bad we couldn't get any of the zappers to work but maybe next year.

Is there a video of Clay destroying that Thermax?Would LOVE to see it!!Hopefully someone filmed it!Did he use the "WHAM!!!,SLAM!!!,BAM,Gadget"(claw hammer)? or did he use golf clubs?,Baseball bat?

What a week, made it home safe with my goodies (central vacs!!!) and I’m pooped. I had such a good time! Everyone was wonderful and I’m thankful to them all for making it so easy to have a fun time. I’m never going 5 years between conventions again! Hell if I had the money I’d be going to Spokane next weekend! Shocking as it may seem, very little of it is actually about the vacuums, it really is just about seeing your friends. I have friends that I met in 2004, now knowing these people for half of my life now, it’s been a crazy ride but I wouldn’t trade it for anything!

All Clay used

Was his voice!!LOL, Clay had a way with words like no other..Clay used the most proper English, he sounded like a Professor, and said the most outrageous funny things, which made whatever he was telling hilarious.

Well.....I attended my first convention and I am still reflecting on how much fun I had and more importantly how much I learned. Everyone was so welcoming and there was not one ounce of drama! Really nice group of kind people all sharing their knowledge! And then there was Tom.....sigh.....the ULTIMATE HOST throughout the convention! Tom's vast knowledge and expertise is truly a gift to be around. There was not a question that Tom could not answer. Again just learned so much! Tom also gracously opened up his home to us all as well which was just so nice. If you could not make it this year, I urg you to do so next! You will spend time with a great group as well as learn so much! Han's, I have heard so much about you! I hope your back is doing better and look forward to meeting you in the future!

central vacs next year

I like the idea of having a central vacuum theme next year, if we do, I already know what I am bringing, three central vac units that are designed to be connected directly without pipes, and all of my power nozzles, I actually brought all of the power nozzles in 2017 but didnt' really get a chance to try them all at the museum, people were really impressed with the Sebo power nozzle though, that's a great nozzle for sure.
