Vacuum Cleaner Manufacturer Lawsuits

Lewyt

Before WWII their factory would build products for other companies and had the slogan"Let Lewyt Do It". I have heard from a vac dealer in NY that Filter Queen went to Lewyt wanting an east coast factory to build Filter Queen for the post war demand for consumer goods.Lewyt studied their blueprints for a time and told FQ they were not interested. Then Lewyt has a round vac with a paper cone. Then the lawsuit.
CheeseWonton,
Do you have documented facts on the Lewyt Electronic lawsuits that you could share?

I believe that, Hoover

had something happen with the Convertible. You'll notice, the 4 height adjustment, in later years, reads, "Low". Previously, it read "Indoor outdoor".   Of course, some people would have taken that literally, and, run the vacuum 'outdoors' on wet/damp carpets, etc.

And, yes, under the handle grip, you'll find the sticker about electric shock could occur if used outdoors or on wet surfaces.

But, like the  warning on Mc Donald's coffee, (after THAT lawsuit), should anyone NEED TO BE TOLD?

There just really is no excuse for stupidity.
