VacuumLand – Vintage & Modern Vacuum Enthusiasts

Help Support VacuumLand:

I found the Love American Style episode!!!! Season 3, Episode 5: "Love and the Guilty Conscience" starring Jo Anne Worley. It's that beautiful 1970 avocado green Princess with the woodgrain insert on top...the salesman brings in a red Eureka tool caddy too!

See link below...YouTube is amazing.....😀

Of course ... Westinghouse tank on I Love Lucy!

On a later episode she's using a Hoover 2 upright (don't remember the model) with a lot of business of using the attachments. Product Placement much?!

I'm amazed they didn't use Hazel more often to promote new vacuums - since she was a housemaid and all. I guess they didn't want the show to become a marketing schlock for vacuums or cleaning products.

Bub O'Casey used an Electrolux USA model XXX on several episodes of MY THREE SONS.I haven't seen what Uncle Charley used.

Paul,

Uncle Charley also used the Lux XXX, in fact it was the ONLY vacuum I remember seeing on My Three Sons. Sometimes you would also see one of the boys carrying it upstairs or downstairs. I think the only member of that family who DIDN'T do anything with the Lux was the Dad, Steve Douglas, played by Fred MacMurray.

Thanks, Jeff. I've seen the B & W episodes more recently than the colored ones on TV.

Such consistency in prop's suggests to me a detailed and organized manager; and maybe the fact that MTS didn't share its prop's with other shows.

I had previously mentioned a Hoover Convertible on Young Sheldon.
I've since seen at least two different Convertibles, maybe three. And, there may have been a Dial A Matic in a background shot.
Part of the reason I like the show is the sets, props, and vehicles. I miss the 1980s!

When Hazel's neighbor, Mr. Johnson, was using the cleaner, the shadows made it appear to me to be a Model LX until I saw Hazel carry it out—that shot lasted a split-second before the fade-in to the next scene, so no need to clean your glasses or computer screen on that account :). Btw, Mr. Johnson was so delighted to have "mastered" his vacuuming ability that he asked Hazel if he could use it again the next day. :)

Both.

Pic 1 shows the model LX which the Johnson's must have, but in picture 2 its a model E that belongs to the Baxter's. However, Hazel has also been seen using a Modern Hygine.

Huh—it's the same scene, so they must have done it in different takes. Shirley Booth likely asked to use the lighter Model E for easier carrying. Seemingly, the Johnsons had no cleaner of their own.

Rochester pushes a vacuum cleaner along while riding a high wheel trike (penny-farthing).

Forensic files

I was watching an episode of forensic files and a lady was suspected of murder. Investigators confiscated her vacuum and a pair of pants. I believe the vacuum was a bag less dirt devil MVP. They found fibers on the vacuum cleaners brush roll. I put the photo of what I thought was the vacuum In the episode.
