I remember the church I went to before, had a few vacuums. Most of them were Bissell Powerforces, a few purple bagless BOL and a black that was a little higher end. I used the purple Powerforces a few times and I actually liked them, lightweight, easy to push and not too loud. The only issue is the filters were a pain to clean. The last one of these I remember them getting was a bagged black BOL Powerforce, I guess they got tired of cleaning all those filters and got the idea a lot of us learned, bagged is easier!
Other than that, there was a green Kenmore Progressive canister, and also a Kirby G6. I guess some people preferred canisters and some Kirbys, so they brought those machines to use.
If it were me I would have gotten Sanitaire uprights, easy to clean around and under pews and F&G bags hold a lot and cheap.
Usually if it was my turn to vacuum, I bring a canister with a long hose and cord. Easier to clean under the pews with it, just leave it at the end of the aisle and work your way down. But then you had to keep backing out of each aisle and move canister to the next one. One lady told me she preferred to use a canister to clean it too.
