I've seen some advertisements in newspapers that some vac shops that sell refurbished Kirbys will also give those buyers about five or six specific attachments which are the most commonly used with the hose (rather than the whole box of standard attachments that include some redundant accessories).

I think the most common attachments vac shops give to users (those who did not want the entire box worth) upon purchase of a refurbished Kirby would include:
* Hose
* Long extension wand
* Curved extension wand
* Utility air nozzle (aka upholstery nozzle)
* Utility brush nozzle (aka upholstery brush)
* Duster brush
* Surface nozzle and swivel tube
* Metal suction coupling (to be used with the hose on models 505 to 562)

What do you remember about what tools you got with the purchase of a refurbished Kirby?

All of my Kirby's were purchased off ebay or other collectors and they all included the complete set of attachments. The exception to this would be my G3 which I rescued from beside a dumpster and had no attachments, but I am able to share all of the attachments from my Sentria.

I bought my Omega in 1994 or so from a local 'all vacuum' shop as a refurb unit for around $170 or so. It came with the carpet nozzle.
They included a complete set of D50 attachments in the deal as the vac would be only half a vac without them.
I got the:
Tall slim cardboard storage box
Hose
Straight wand
Curved wand
Floor nozzle and swivel elbow
Medium nozzle with brush
Small nozzle with no brush
Dusting round brush
Extra belt
Crevasse tool and small insert brush
Carry handle and strap
Moth ball grinder
Felt pad for floor nozzle

Cannot remember if I got a manual or not...

Hey
If you look on ebay specifically great vacs. They sell what you mentioned. The attachments aren't even kirby oem. They are generic attachments. They are about 40 miles north of where i live. I drove by there location but parking lot was either in the back or they were closed. It was a fairly big store. I really don't understand refurbished kirbys. I can tear apart do everything they do myself. I can even polish just as well. I could do any kirby except avalirs and 505 series under $100 vacuum and parts. I don't really trust warranties always a loop hole in them.
Id buy a vacuum cleaner do it myself and save money.
Most warranty vacuums are usually Franken kirbys. G3 bags on g4 and parts mismatched. I would put correct parts on it too. To each his own. I change my own oil etc. If i can do it i do. I might be a tight wad but im no millionaire. I find it wasteful to pay extra for things. I do prefer Toyota vehicles they are reliable. I pay more because they last longer. You get my point i work hard for money and try to save money when i can.

Never had any problem buying a used Kirby in a vac shop they always seem perfect.
My advice would be for you to try your local vacuum store.
