I took in my Miele S7280 to the local vac shop last Wednesday. (8/29/12) I called this morning and he said it needed a new wiring harness and cord. The problem was the cord was getting warmer then normal and I was worried of electrical issues. (after an electrical fire I am paranoid) He then said because of the holiday the part would not arrive till next week. That will be 2 1/2 weeks to fix a vacuum that is just over a year old. I got it when we moved to Crystal City while the house was being rebuilt.
Question is: Is this normal to take so long to get a part? I just think it is rather absurd and further more could the machine have other issues if the wiring was bad?
I just use it for quick clean ups daily. For my real cleaning I use my new Rainbow that I love and yes the dust is now a non issue. Nonetheless I like having my upright to swing through the house to pick up dog hair and sand daily.
What is your take on this?
