Vac Recommendations

Hi Rob! Which Sebo power head are you referring to? The only Sebo upright rated highly by Consumer Reports is the Felix Premium. I think this model uses a simpler power head which does not have an electronic height adjustment mechanism. It uses a manual dial to adjust the height. Consumer Reports tested it on medium plush carpeting and gave it a "very good" rating for carpet cleaning. The other Sebos did not clean carpet well.

Oops...well there you go. That's the power head on the Felix. Guess that nixes this vac for carpets!

Thanks for the inside scoop...that's too bad.

I guess I'm back to recommending 2 vacs: Hoover Platinum Lightweight for carpets only, Miele Olympus with larger optional dusting brush for everything else! (I'm a vac "team" kinda guy!). :-D

Just wanted to thank you all for your recommendations! I actually ended up purchasing a Shark Rotator Lift Away vacuum and CANNOT believe how well it works for such an inexpensive machine! I had a 20% off coupon at Bed, Bath & Beyond which brought the price down to about $200. I only intended on testing it out on my family room frieze carpeting but once I started, I couldn't stop and ended up cleaning most of my main level and master bedroom. Having vacuumed the day before with the Miele Twist, I was AMAZED that I had to empty the container three times. I wish I would have taken pictures...truly shocking! Most of it was dog hair and I'm sure a lot of dirt was fluffed up (previous Dyson owner here so I know the drill) but still....quite impressive for the price. While it doesn't feel like it will last 20 years, it IS sturdier than I anticipated. I'll still use my central vac for weekly deep cleanings but during the week, this will be a great choice. Thanks again!
