Brad I know you are very fond of Filter Queens. I am curious if you have ever seen or used a Water-Matic Vacuum. They are similar (not the same) as a Filter Queen and Silver King. Check out their website. I have the black Filter Magic in my collection and their Home Office is right here in Roanoke, VA. They are stellar vacuums!

You have inspired me. I have added a 1975 Filter Queen Owner's Manual. I believe it is the D31/D33 manual. They don't specify the model, only the year. I had one of these. Enjoy. I will add some more. Go to Owners Manuals on the Home Page and look for Filter Queen. Let me know if you find it.

No problem. I LOVE Filter Queens. I have found some more manuals and will load them up in the next few days. It is amazing to me how little the machine has changed over the years. But then, why change perfection? I don't know if I have any promotional material for the Picture Of The Day, but will do some searching. This wonderful group of collectors sends me things all the time. These manuals don't specify a model number, so perhaps the group can help me with that.

I like the combination of utility and beauty, and the fact they didn't destroy a good design over the years like so many other manufacturers, I have never cared for unnecessary changes in anything.

On the current models, all I have ever seen is the electrified hose with the power nozzle and separate floor brush. Do they still have the non-electrified hose with the 2 steel wands and rug nozzle with clip on floor pad? When my mom bought hers new in 1972 the standard configuration was the non-electric hose, 2 wands, rug nozzle, floor pad, dusting brush, crevice tool and ulphostery nozzle. The power nozzle was an option which came it the one piece wand and electrified hose.

I think FQ has taken a step backwards on the current models with that huge hand grip (like on the electrolux) - makes it very cumbersome to use unless all you ever do is vacuum floors or carpeting.

They still sell that configuation as an option. The kit comes with the two curved steel wands, a non-electric hose and the rug tool. Just love that rug tool.

Thanks Fred. Amazing how times have changed. When my mom bought her FQ the 2 wands, rug nozzle, non electric hose were standard and the power nozzle configuration optional and now the reverse is true. Sign of the times I guess - more people have carpeting than bare floors. I do prefer the end of the non electric hose over the electric hose.
