Updated Numatic range

Hi all,

Numatic have some new models and features coming for 2018.

The biggest change is that the current compact model - the 160 sized machines - will now become the standard models. So what is now currently branded Henry Compact and Hetty Compact will be the "normal" models.

It's not yet clear if the 200 size models, which have been the standard since Numatic's launch, will be continued. I suspect the Henry Xtra may keep the larger bucket.

Charles is being rebranded as "Henry Wet & Dry".

There is a new model - the Henry Reach - which includes an extra wand and a stair stretch hose. There is also a Henry and Hetty Pet, which includes the smaller Hairo brush, to replace the Harry.

In addition, there's also now a Henry ProKit available, which (potentially) includes an updated AiroBrush, hard floor tool and mini turbo brush.

I say potentially as we managed to get hold of one today and did a video review, but it includes the same standard AiroBrush that came with the John and Lewis models.

Another new product for Numatic is the Henry Wash. I've not seen this for sale anywhere yet, but it's essentially a George without the dry kit.

smaller bags?

Do the compact models take smaller bags than the 200 series or is it the same bag, just a smaller tub? I wonder if these models are changing in the United States as well. I was hoping the pro kit might have included an electric power nozzle but it's still relying on turbo nozzles which are not near as good. Pairing Henry up with the Volt battery powered nozzle makes a great combination.

Hi Mike,

The compact takes the same size bag, it's just a smaller bucket.

Powernozzle cylinders have never been popular here in the UK. When you also factor in that Numatic come from a commercial background too - their simplicity is their strong point. It keeps them reliable, easy to use and cheap/easy to repair should anything need doing. All vital aspects for the commercial market. Adding powernozzles and such things adds more cost and more potential areas for the cleaner to go wrong.

I can't even being to explain how popular Numatic cleaners are. It's impossible to walk through the cities and not see them being used in shops, hotels, offices, restaurants etc.

There were previously powernozzle models available, as well as an optional extra that could be added to the older models, but these aren't available anymore and weren't big sellers.

Numatics in America!

I've had a Henry for 15 years here in the States and it's my most favorite canister vacuum ever! It's been through the wars and still "keeps ticking."

I don't think Numatics are overpriced here anymore. A James is $280.00. A Henry is $380.00. I think the value of the buck is better than for any other imported machine. Numatics are basic very reliable machines without all the bells and whistles that the other imports have and we don't need. If you want a "bare bones" canister vacuum that does it all, buy a Numatic!

I'm now the Facilities Manager of the largest Episcopal church in Wilmington NC and I've just bought two James to go along with the 4 Sanitaire uprights we already have. My guys love the size, weight, cord length and hose length (8. ft) of the machine and we now have a tussle over who gets one each day! We all love how quiet and compact they are and while the dirt bucket may be a little smaller than the Henry, the James holds it's own against it's big "brother." I can't recommend them enough! I don't need a power nozzle or anything fancy to do the job and a Numatic fills that bill!

two stage motor

I know for a while the Henry used a two stage motor, not sure if the model was any different or if it was still a 200. The Henry I have uses the 600 watt motor, it's very quiet but still very powerful, the price of Henry is reasonable here. If you need a power nozzle you can always get the Volt nozzle.

Canada’s Nacecare company sources many of its commercial vacuums from Numatic. They currently sell a 120-volt Henry (model NVH380) which features a Sebo power nozzle. See the link below:

Certain new models also come with a 3 year warranty instead of the standard 2 year.

These models are Henry Turbo, Henry Wet & Dry, Hetty Pet, Henry Reach and Henry / Hetty purchased with the optional ProKit.

Having just bought the latest version of the Henry Xtra the ProKit is of no use to me.... however I am VERY interested in what the Henry Turbo is going to be? Are they bringing back the electric floor tool??? Maybe Henry Turbo will be the Henry Xtra replacement and come with the Airo Brush?

They seem to be rebranding everything to 'Henry'.... with Charles now being called Henry Wet & Dry and a cheaper version of the George being called Henry Wash. Even the bag packaging has taken on a more childlike appearance and are now marketed as 'Henry Bags'. Personally I preferred it when they all had their separate names.... Henry, Harry, George, Charles etc and I also think the older 'Numatic' branded bag packaging looks a lot more professional. However I can see how the new 'dumbed down' branding will appeal more to the average domestic user. The average person doesn't know what a Numatic vacuum is.... but everbody knows Henry.

Matt, the Henry Turbo is the same as the Xtra but in the 160 size.

Henry in US

I have a Henry (Red) and a George (Blue) in the US. I got the Henry from my local vac shop, then got the George brand new on eBay for $150. I use the Henry for auto detailing as the hose is really long and the machine is just super quiet and durable. The George is also used for my detailing business, but doesn't see as much use as the Henry. I must say I am very impressed with both machines and how well they perform. I'm going to assume that both machines will end up lasting me a long, long time.
