I have an unusual set of Electrolux aluminum wands that are unlike any others I've ever seen. Typically, the aluminum wands are polished with a shiny finish (although, granted, not as shiny as chrome).

The unusual wands I'm referring to are not polished aluminum; they have a rather dull "satin" finish. It's the same finish that mid-century Hoover machines had (Convertible, Constellation, etc.). It may be hard to see what I'm describing in the photos, but they have a completely different type of finish.

Now, it's not that this set of wands is dull or tarnished: I have sets that are not shiny like they are when new. It really is a different surface.

I wonder if they are a set of prototypes, or perhaps the earliest version of aluminum wands that appeared with the late-version of the E-Automatic. (Maybe people thought they were ugly, so they were changed to a polished finish.)

Check it out...

Same here

I have some of those as well, although I couldn't begin to tell you which vacuum I received them with. They're certainly unique looking!

As above those are newer.Another rare wand was used on only the early Discovery II uprights of 1986.The plastic wands had the 'E' emblem with the vertical stripes molded at the top edge.
