Universal...

Was a part of Landers Frary and Clark, of New Britain Connecticut, yes they did make coffee makers as well as other small appliances and electric ranges, gas ranges sold under the Universal name were made in Chicago by Cribben and Sexton co., Universal was sold to GE in about 1966, they made a pretty good vacuum, not as popular as some, but well built and of high quality. Here is a canister owned by Toby Glenn, this is a rare one...

Your best bet

Is to do a "dirtfinder" search with Universal as the subject and enter "crevicetool" to confine posts to user name. That should tell you all you need to know combined with a great deal of excellent reading.

You would be surprised how often the word universal comes up in threads but not related to the company.
