<span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: small;">Tried the white model today at my local independent but of course without its ever so cheap price at £29-99 compared to the £99 asking price, the price was still a bit steep for what it offers. The black model comes with additional tools including a rather natty looking full size mattress nozzle.</span>

<span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: small;">Pros: </span>

<ol>
<li><span style="font-size: small; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">Not too noisy for the 1000 watt motor, eco-friendly.</span></li>
<li><span style="font-size: small; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">Has a brush roll on/off button & quite light weight.</span></li>
<li><span style="font-size: small; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">Sole plate can be taken off by 3/4 twist-coin fasteners (but I then began to wonder how long those would actually last if you continually have to clean the brush roll, off due to previous ownership of the original Electrolux Ergorapido Mk1 which offered a similar design). </span></li>
<li><span style="font-size: small; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">The filter design is impressive - usual Dyson copied bottom door dirt release but only ONE filter at the top and of the sponge type with a rather similar TTI copied grid design and tab to pull out. Can be washed and as usual have to wait 24 hours before it can be installed again. </span></li>
<li><span style="font-size: small; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">Suction system looks like a multicyclonic.</span></li>
<li><span style="font-size: small; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">A neat pull out handle which already has a crevice tool bonded out and stretches up to around 20cm in height. There's a clip AND lock slide on long rectangular brush tool that can be added to the top and for once, the brush tool can be pivoted to either clean upwards or downwards, though still an awkward shape. </span></li>
<li><span style="font-size: small; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">Average 6 metre or so power cord but the machine is light enough to steer around corners.</span></li>
<li><span style="font-size: small; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">Brush roll reset button.</span></li>
<li><span style="font-size: small; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">Nice and comfortable looped handle, similar to the red bagged upright.</span></li>
<li><span style="font-size: small; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">Some good quality plastics here including the flush top lift handle for the bin release/carry handle and its narrow enough to get into any kind of bin for dust disposal.</span></li>
</ol>

<span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: small;">Cons:</span>

<ol>
<li><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: small;">The hose isn't long enough - good enough for a quick clean but has a small diameter which could probably clog up too quickly when used. </span></li>
<li><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: small;">This model won't clean all the way flat to the floor - sticking with my SEBO Felix then!</span></li>
<li><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: small;">The crevice tool on the end of the handle & spine has been glued on - which means you're limited to using the tools that come with this machine and little else.</span></li>
</ol>

Sorry, no - I dont have a local BN near me - my independent is selling the Panasonic at £99-00.

@ultraperformer - It doesn't really qualify much when a brand suggests that - it really comes down to what you find with thorough use. If the HEPA filter is washable, then its enough for me until such times that a sponge filter of this type has had so many washes that it actually requires replacing. Either by the wear and tear determined by the amount of washes it gets or for the fact that I can smell pet odour or other odours coming through.

At least Panasonic offer a washable filter on this upright - the one on my Panasonic bagged upright is a useless paper cartridge type where the outer sides are also paper - thus if you wash it, it will disintegrate requiring replacement.

When I had my Vax Mach Air in 2010, I only replaced it with a new HEPA filter when I sold it and that was a couple of months ago. The original filter was just washed and left to dry as the user manual suggested and it was enough for me at the time - used to clean up after quite a few dogs and other animals on a daily basis.

Oh I see your mention of £29.99 got me excited Iol I actually went to my local B&M but they didn't have them in stock I'm in north Derbyshire and think George is south Derbyshire, shame I'd like one but not enough to drive mlles for one.

It's just that someone I know is after a Dyson,so I bought a Dyson DC01 De Stijl off a local Facebook sale page for £20 , except they want a ball one!

So when I see them tomorrow ill show them this, but they said they wanted a Dyson which had the ball! That's how obsessed some are with Dysons, they're mostly all the same cyclone technology but he won't do without a cleaner that has those 5 letters on it. Show him tomorrow & I'll tell him I can sell him one of these for £100, £30 than RRP & see what he says
