Very...

Hi Mr, Very true. It's quite cheap.
But as I said to you the other week the Dyson rep told my supplier they've stopped manufacturing the normal wheeled Dysons and only making the ball style models now.
So my guess is they will start selling off the DC33s etc they have left in stock cheaper. Then have the resurrected DC25 as the basic model.

£250 for a Felix? No, no...

Not at Currys or John Lewis - £219. for the base Vogue model, £189-99 for the Vogue model from www.freenetelectrical.co.uk, £208 from Applianceplanet.co.uk for the Navy model and finally from Amazon UK also listed at various prices including a Vogue model at £219 as well.

I notice Argos are selling the Dyson DC33 at £219 so the BN price is cheaper - but not all BN stores are the same - some don't even stock vacuums as yet from known brands.

Argos is also selling the DC14 for £179-99 (link below).

I thought Sebo felixes were little baby vacs? Hows the suction? I know the DC25 has amazingand excellent performance on carpets, and is really good on hard floor too, the brush bar motors wont burn out if you keep the brush clean either! :) so I like Dc25's for that

You love your Dyson, I love my Felix.

The Felix isn't really a baby vac - that's only considered if you lower the handle to the lowest 3 point height setting! It has a 3.5 litre dirt capacity and high filter dust bags. It was designed to act as a medium home vac. The ET-1 floor head is extremely durable but then there are others on here who report that the floor head cuts out on thick pile. I've never had that problem because when I considered the Felix my home had been installed with medium pile wool carpeting; a Dyson would effectively destroy the strands very easily and the Felix brush roll compensates for brush wear and carpet due to its design with an additional soft roller brush available. It has a removable brush roll as opposed to Dyson and comes out via a side partition.

SEBO's vacuums are commercially based, so they're not like your domestic Dyson. I don't dislike Dyson but I know from experience that they can break down easily due to the plastics plus you have all that noise to contend with. The Felix is pretty quiet for its low energy, eco friendly 1300 watt motor and has a variable suction slider on the handle.

As for suction, the Felix has plenty of it, both with the older paper bags and high filter bags, though the latter bags seem to prolong suction better just when the bag needs replaced. It does well on hard flooring too, not just due to the brush roll on/off on the ET-1 power nozzle floor head, but also for the fact that as standard, the Felix comes with a deluxe parquet hard floor static brush tool too.

Ive never quite understood the complaint of the Felix becoming too hot other than the fact that it does IF the machine is constantly left or used at the highest speed. I seldom require to use the highest setting and find the Felix cleans well either at the lowest or set half way. Not much hot air then. The Felix is a different design to quite a lot of others on the market and teaches the owner to do things differently than they have done before - the variable speed slider is one example.
