The cat smell would be a difficult one. I have received two "lightly used" vacs that were in excellent condition, but the previous owners were addicted to Carpet fresh. It took forever for them to quit smelling like a French Brothel.
Some on the forum advocate ozone generators for smell elimination, I am cautious of those myself for several reasons.
1: Ozone is a pollutant, and very irritating to lung tissue.
2: Ozone can damage plastic and rubber parts.
Looking great so far, good luck with the smell elimination. Does cause one to speculate what the former owner's house was like.
