Just watching episode 26, season 8 of Bewitched and there is a door to door salesman (at 8:40 in the video) trying to sell Samantha the Mindmaster canister vacuum. It looks like a re-badged Regina canister similiar to the one that a friend of my mom's had. There were 3 versions of this model, the dark brown being the basic model. My mom had the deluxe version in gold & chrome with the 3 speed selector, bag full check, cord rewind. I don't recall ever seeing Samantha use any canister vacuums but saw several episodes with her using a Dial a Matic.

I remember that episode, I think it might have been one of the last in the series. I don't recall seeing Samantha doing any vacuuming after the house was remodeled and shag carpeting installed. Lots of scenes with the dial-a-matic sweeping the green low pile carpeting.

Were you watching this on DVD or something? Nice clear picture! They air Bewitched on TV here at night time on the local TV channel and it's not as good quality as this.

I've only seen the Dial-A-Matic 1100 with the chrome tape over the Hoover letters. I've heard tell of a powerdrive DAM 1170 being seen in Samantha's closet but I've never seen it for myself.

BEWITCHED is one of my favorite classic TV sitcoms, but it isn't aired on the channels I receive. Anyway, thanks for posting. It's always fun to screen vacuum cleaners, polisher-scrubbers, or carpet shampooers as props.

The actor shown in your photos has that stereo-typical saleman face!

Ant-Man

It has a Kirby classic omega. It has a weird device that said bag full or clog.
I don't have a pic but it was an omega
. I found a pic explaining it.

Double Double Toil and Trouble - Hoover Attachment Set €

In Season 4 Episode 4 ( Double Double Toil and Trouble ) A Hoover Attachment set can be seen on the shelf behind Endora as she’s hatching a sinister plot with Samantha's cousin / alter ego Serena to drive Darrin out of the house! [this post was last edited: 4/22/2020-19:22]

Agnes Moorehead's favorite color was lavender

They made the "33" for her, a lavender Convertible. If you look in Vintage archives, go to "Trip to Agnes Mooreheadvile. You'll see one of my 33(s). Oddly, it's a "Special', meaning, short cord, half bumper, no light, snap bag. We'd hope "her" model would have had a light, etc.

Thanks for sharing this info John - a guy named Jeff Parker shot that story down in one of the FB vac collectors groups yesterday. There was a lot of back and forth over whether this was true or not. He stated that it was completely false. I don’t know anything about Hoover’s history but I would lean toward this story being true😉 please share your feedback when time permits 😊 Also I believe the same Hoover Dial-a-Matic was used on I Dream of Jeannie. Is this correct?

Quite possibly, but if that's true the DAM 1100's last appearance was in the "I Dream of Jeannie" season 2 episode 1 where the Blue Djinn (Michael Ansara) threw it into the ocean. Since it was 1966, Samantha probably got upgraded to a Dial-A-Matic 1118. I don't recall seeing the peacock blue 1110 in either show.

I think the story of the 33 is completely false and made up by some collector to impress others. I have a pink Regina canister that I bought from Marc at the convention. I’m guessing it’s Canadian? I’ve never seen one with a braided hose and the color scheme this one is in.

Ok..I’ve heard the story a few times here and there and found it to be very interesting. Whether if it’s true or not this particular model has earned a reputation and semblance for an incredible actress and a timeless sitcom 😊 Either way it’s a very Bewildering and Bewitching Hoover convertible! Look at the spell that has been cast for collectors to compare proposed facts to that of assumed fiction-Endora would refer to this is mere mortal bickering- This Hoover has had collectors spell-bound with fables and fiction for years which will continue for many more to come ✨✨✨✨ [this post was last edited: 4/23/2020-16:52]

Good eye in catching the tools in the screen shot, Keith! Being a details guy myself, I appreciate the prop department's staging, too.

And, I agree with you that Agnes Moorhead was an incredible actress. Gotta love her beguiling hairdo and make-up in BEWITCHED, also! Along with that sitcom I've enjoyed her performances in several other TV programs in addition to movies. My aunt, who worked at the famed Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, was blessed to meet Miss Moorhead sometime in the 1970s when the actress received medical care and found her to be very warm and personable.
