I miss the original Mr Bean episodes. I watched the Christmas episode today (Merry Christmas Mr Bean), and it never fails to make me laugh when the turkey gets stuck on his head!

As Time Goes By:

"As Time Goes By" is one of my favorite shows, but it ended for a very good reason - both of its stars had other commitments.

The BBC wanted it to continue, because the show is wildly popular in the American market, making huge amounts of money. Dame Judi and Geoffrey Palmer were offered an enormous sum to make another series, but had to decline because of other projects they were already signed to do.

So, in this one case, you can fairly say that the network involved really did try to keep a good thing going.

A few of the situation comedies which I most enjoyed seem to be unknown by many people I have mentioned them to. These include So Haunt Me and Next Of Kin. I also rather liked The Brittas Empire, even if it was as painful to watch as it was funny. In more recent years I was taken with Ladies of Letters but I lost the will to live after about the fourth episode. What started out as amusing and plausible did, in my opinion, quickly turn into a ridiculous charade.
