Turquoise Eureka upright

My guess at the date:

1970 or 1971.

Dial-A-Naps made later than that date would have ventilation slots on the hood, and would probably not have a model number in the famous 2000 series (it would probably have a number in the 1400 series.) If it's Model 2010, then it is the bottom of the line model from the same year that the Vanguard Cordaway Rugulator came out (Model 2070). The cord hooks are also metal and are shaped like those from 1960's Eureka uprights. I don't know if we can use the beater bar brush roll to date the vac as that may not be original to the machine.

These classic Eureka uprights are great carpet cleaners, and prove that you don't need a lot of wattage or bells and whistles to get a carpet clean. The secret? The famous top-filling F&G bag that Eureka has used since 1960!

power switch...

anyone else notice the rocker type power swtch? dont beleive i've ever seen another eureka with that tup switch... wonder if its rare, or a vac shop switch replacement..

i was just going to ask about that :P

i actually think id like it, and if it was a replacement they did a darn good job doing it

I was wondering the same.........

but seeing as it was produced in Canada, and not the Bloomington, IL plant, I thought perhaps it was a Candadian thing.

And I agree, if it was a after-market fix, they did a good job at installing it.
