Is there a need for genuine bags?

Miele FBAG, MBAG, NBAG ETC
HOOVER branded Bags (an assortment)
Panasonic Bags (ingenico etc)

Just wondered if they are worth listing/selling?
 
Because that type of machine was based on the American Hoover caddy vac which was also based on the Hoover Elite and these are American type cleaners and rather rare hear in the UK. The company who owned Hoover at the time was called Maytag which was also an American company which is why the question arose about the voltage.
 
Hoover(UK) is owned by Candy.  In the USA, Hoover(US) is owned by TTI, a Chinese firm who also own Vax(UK).


 


Maytag did own Hoover(US) in the past.
 
Goodness, how on earth can you keep up? It happens in this industry-especially in these uncertain times. Hoover Candy have just purchased Baumatic after they went into
administration and I'm sure they won't be the last.

They were the same company Hoover US and Hoover UK up until the end of the mid 80's Maytag bought Hoover US in 1987 I believe. and Candy teamed up with Hoover UK in 1993 and eventually bought Hoover out in 1998 due to their mass debt after the free flights fiasco...Candy didn't have a very good start with the sue over the infamous (HOOVER! purepower based) Vortex.
 
Lucy, I will keep an eye on your sales on Ebay, but because we don't know what else you intend to list, its difficult to know what to bid on, as most of us have limited resources and cant bid on everything. If for instance we bid on one machine and then you list another we want more, in a weeks time, such as a Dyson DC02 DeStijl, it will be a bit frustrating.


It would be very helpful to know a list of what you intend to put on ebay, sort of like a full inventory, as we all have favourite models and we are just not sure whether you intend to list them or not, or whether indeed you actually have those models to sell on ebay.
 
Time to man up and apologise?

So firstly I'm pleased my 10p worth didn't go down like a lead balloon... It's nice to know we can all be adult over this.

Secondly the Maytag machine should be UK voltage... There was an 'as new' one on eBay not long back that had been owned by a collector who had barely used it. Exactly the same machine... Didn't sell for much IIRC. I can also remember Miller Brothers selling quite a few different Maytag machines back in the day.

AND MOST IMPORTANTLY

I know he sometimes doesn't come across as well as he could, but has anybody thought about thanking CitroenBX for bringing these machines and the owner of them to our attention?

And I think the people who were making the bullsh*t comments in the other thread need to apologise. Keyboard warrior or not - If you're man enough to make accusations like that at least be man enough to go cap in hand with an apology.

And now... now I think I'll get down off my high horse haha

Not really, he left us hanging for days with wonder wheather he was actually going to prove to us that such items were actually going to be sold and the reason he didn't tell us was for his own selfish demand anyway.

to be quite frank it has caused a lot of heart ache and for what it's worth I would rather he said nothing...they would of appeared on my saved searches anyway and perhaps for buy it now!
 
Yep that's why I questioned the maytag, its more if an american model. The us guys rate the early ones quite well iirc.

I said thanks to citroenbx a few posts ago on one of the threads. Have to say I'll believe him/you bx mate when you post again. Plus your supermarket eBay links are very good sometimes!
 
To be honest it's the blind leading those with 20:20 vision at the moment. I've no idea what's worth listing and what is not.

Some of my listings have an astonishing amount of interest, others have less so I guess I will learn. I have lots of models rather than lots of one model and work full time and do all of the extra paperwork/shop issues on top of having 3 children and running my eBay shop.

Also I want to be very careful that I list as described so have only listed what I have physically seen/examined as a box in a pile could be opened/soiled. This is precisely why the thought of someone offering their time to go through them and catalogue and give their opinion was attractive.

I have my end of year administration due, half term and the cleaners are in 5 locations some way apart so it may be a little while before I get the chance to focus on selling the cleaners again. I will of course post on here when I do get chance to list. I will also take into account the inventory request-again it's a case of time. We have decided that the one cleaner we will not sell is the DC02 deStijl as we want to keep for the children-it may be worth far more in another 20 years and I believe that's the most valuable.

I'm pretty sure everything else will be going on eBay but will take some time to get through.
 
The Dysons on the picture at the bottom of the side Is the one I'm waiting for you to list the Dyson DC04 Zorbster You listed A dyson dc04 Absolute Plus the green and purple but I don't want to buy that just in case you List the zorbster And i noticed you have three of them And i am waiting for the Dyson DC05 Plus In green

Well, at least we know now not to wait around for the DC02 DeStijl, which would indeed have fetched a lot of money. I can understand why they want to keep this one - its gonna be very valuable in years to come.


The other point I wanted to mention is that pictures of just the box and a model code might mean stuff to us, as we can look up the details, but if you want the average public to be interested, the you need to include a picture of the vac itself, as this lets people know what the cleaner looks like and what features, such as variable motor speed control on the Telios (or lack of it) the cleaner has.


I have had to Google search a few of these boxed vacs, and some don't reveal much detail about the cleaner inside the box.

Well that would be all very well and good if the person in question was not known to this forum, but as there have been comments and threads in the past which made little sense on occasion or, as I found to my cost, were telling other folks they had got things wrong which were not so, it was easy to consider that this was merely a cry for help, so to speak. There is a well known fable about such events.
 
Heartache Alex? Really? Lmao you'd think he had ran away with your husband the way you're going on! Are you really telling me if you personally found this treasure trove of machines that you wouldn't try and get as much for yourself as you could before informing other collectors?! So what if he has been slow with information... Patience is a virtue!
 
NewOld, I'm 20 miles away from your leighton buzzard shop in Thame if you wanted help sorting and making an inventory of these machines. Cant afford any of them, but would love to help!

If you did want any help on a weekday I'll happily book a day off work, weekends can be done but I may need to arrange childcare, wont let my 2 year old loose in your shop!
 
Lol Matt...yes I probably would but then again so would eveeyone? Everyone wants to be a winner? Am I right?
It is just Citron told us while he was "getting what he wanted" if citron had of said afterwards when he knew what was going on himself! And what the seller had we wouldn't be in this mess.
